Danco 28964A Bath Tub and Shower 1-Handle Trim Kit for Eljer and Valley Faucets, 1-Pack (28964), Chrome

Works for Riviera Brand faucets built prior to 1986. Crane owned Riviera and sold to American Standard in the late 1980's. I was unable to find any information for replacement parts but after looking at what was available, this looked like my old part. This part is built for Valley faucets and works with Eljer faucets all built prior to 1986. Installing the Danco 80686 Valley Seat and Springs, 2-Pack, Black with a LASCO 0-3081 Single Lever Cartridge for Valley 0370 and the chrome pipe fittings I had a faucet that didn't leak and new shiny chrome. My wrench was unkind to the previous chrome parts. My chrome plate didn't need replacement and the Danco plate has screw holes that are on the lower part and my screws are upper. Just something to note.

I have an older valley shower, so unfortunately I had to mount it upside down, my bottom lugs weren't threaded. They switched designs at some point and moved the screws from the top to the bottom. That being said, the kit is great quality and worked really well. It came with all the seals and gaskets and all the trim pieces you'd want. There was one piece that wasn't used for my application, not sure what it was for but it didn't exist in any form in the original install. I combined this with a Danco seal set and a Danco valve cartridge and my shower performs like new. Instructions could be better, but there's plenty of info out on the net, basically you unscrew the allen set screw in the knob, take the knob off, unscrew the bonnet nut, remove it, the sleeve and the cartridge, then pull out the spring seals inside the valve body. Replacement is the reverse, make sure when you put the bonnet nut back on you tighten down the plastic insert at the tip of the bonnet nut to make everything nice and tight. I used a flat head screw driver in one of the two gaps to spin it tight.

I did not get the handle set screw (A). This is the piece I needed all along that fell out of my old faucet. I have looked at all the screws I have in my many sets and cannot find the right fit for this. So disappointed that I can not fix this faucet... If you read these, please reply and also send me the Handle set screw ( A). thanks PamEdit: I found the screw in the Handle... no problem.. guess I really need a cartridge instead.

Installation was ok. Had to connect purchase a longer screw to attach the trim to the stem. The handle broke after 11 months. Luckily I had an extra handle that I had purchased sometime prior.

Junk, waste of money. Manufactured and only installs upside down so all labels are backward. Handle broke immediately within days. To Amazons credit they refunded me but product is extremely cheap.

Looks good but I took the sticker and moved it to the other side. There must have been a region specific a/b model. The hot/cold letters are upside down and on the other side
