First let me say I love the look of the assembled shelf. FYI it's not extremely sturdy, just kind of rocks side to side easily with a touch but not like its going to collapse, just like a tree in the wind.My big issue is obvious from the photos. The one we got had been returned, and I didn't notice anything until I cut it open. Then you can see the mess we found with broken and misplaced packaging. I guess if I had taken time to inspect before opening I would have seen the original box tape then where it had been taped again for the return, but who examines something that closely (and I probably would have just opened it anyway). Whoever ordered it had attempted assembly as evidenced by the screw holes they created in a couple of the shelves but apparently stopped and returned it. I'm not sure why unless it was the screws, because that was the biggest pain in assembly. You have to put all of the shelf screws in without pre-drilled holes so you have to use some force to get the screws to start, but the wood is very thin to pre-drill so I understand not doing that. It's 4 screws per shelf for a total of 24 so your wrist might get a little tired if you're doing it manually.

I found this bookcase at Ashley Furniture and ordered it on Amazon for faster shipping and a better price. After seeing some of these reviews, I was a little concerned about quality, etc., but this bookcase is a beautiful home accent for a good price. The packaging was in great shape as were all of the parts, an anti-tip kit was included, and I didn't find the instructions difficult to follow at all.The only reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5 is because the holes for the screws to hold the shelves aren't pre-drilled, but it's a very easy fix.PS there were a few comments about this being particle board vs. real wood, but I believe it's real wood. It's heavy with a wood texture and thickness that felt like real wood when I was drilling, so if it's particle board, it certainly has me fooled.

I bought this for my home and love the look. It doesn’t feel super durable though. I don’t feel comfortable using it to store books, but it makes a nice display shelf for photos and decor.

I was looking for cat furniture that didn't look like cat furniture. This shelf design is great because my cat can go from shelf to shelf like a little ladder. I added some faux fur padding, and it works well. My only complaint is that the frame is extremely light and causes the shelf to wobble badly when being climbed. I anchored it to the wall for safety.

My cat loves exploring and this lets him explore the top of my tv stand! (That’s the purpose of it)I’ve trained him how to get up and down on his own and sometimes hide toys or treats so he’s always intrigued.The shelf is very stylish!The assembly was easy and fast with a drill but can be done with a screw driver. I did not need any help assembling it. However, the packaging was not that good as there were broken foam pieces everywhere when I opened it.

Product arrived earlier than expected. For the cost, this item exceeds the value I expected. It looks great, it stands well, and was fairly easy to assemble.I searched through quite a few places to find a shelving unit that had a rustic vibe, but was modern. This suited my style and was surprisingly far more affordable that competitive shelving units that looked similar.One note, you WILL need an electric screw driver to put this together. The shelves need to be screwed in, and it would take forever to do without an electric drill.Overall, very pleased with this purchase!

Super easy to assemble. I ended up buying a second shelf from Amazon because the first was from big lots and they were no longer available on their online store. Same exact shelf/quality. You may need a rubber mallet and some help to put the sides together but even without help it was an easy/simple assembley job. I love the shelves they're perfect for my plants because the taller ones have space to grow and it was easy to attach grow lights to the bottom shelves where the window light won't reach.
