This is "the" fan to have. Lots of speed choices, height adjustment, swivel mode and even a timer so you can "forget about it" and save on electricity. The remote control is very nice, but frankly it's a "want" not a necessity.Compared to other fans, it's ridiculously easy to assemble.This fan is on just about constantly at our house during summer. We move it from the bedroom to the living room every day. It does not overheat or skip a beat. It's light and easy to carry yet very stable thanks to the wide base. In terms of noise, we set it on high and sleep right through it although our bedroom is 11'x15' (small!). It does not jitter, ring, shake, clink, clunk or make any other weird/annoying kind of rhythmic noise even when it's set to oscillate. As an added bonus, we found that it effectively muffles the nightly barking of the lonely dog down the street. For its size, it provides a very powerful air flow without the "I'm stuck in an airplane engine" type of noise emitted by other fans we have had over the years. This is our second Lasko fan. The other (same size) was sadly "lost" during a theater production...yes we used it to dry paint on the set and it mysteriously disappeared overnight; it was 3 years old and still working like a champ. So, to recap, if you (like us) need excellent functionality, reliability and air flow, stop searching: this is it. The extra 5-10 dollars are well worth it in the long run.

I have always been very pleased with any Lasko fan I have purchased. I recently purchased a tower fan, and actually paid more than I normally do for them, because I thought it would be space saving along with the usual great airflow, but it was AWFUL, I could get more air from a paper fan. So I ordered this one to replace it and I LOVE IT. It is quiet, but it puts out a LOT of air. It is well made, works beautifully and it was almost half the price of the fan that did not work. And I love that it has a remote. I bought a second one for our bedroom and my husband loves the remote as well. We can start out with one speed and change it if needed during the night, from the comfort of our bed and without losing our place to our furry kids, lol. This was a GREAT buy and it took me about five minutes to assemble it. I would HIGHLY suggest this fan. It was well worth the price and it looks very nice.

I recently moved to a very hot climate and a sometimes stuffy mobile home. These fans are great, blows plenty of air. The remote is handy to turn it on and off and adjust the speed.Is it perfect? This being an imperfect world, of course not. It's a bit noisy, the lowest level is maybe a bit too forceful for my taste and the remote does have to be pretty much in front of the fan. But these are minor quibbles, particularly for the bargain price.

This 18" Lasko Pedestal Remote Oscillating fan was ordered 2nd day delivery and arrived on time and in good condition. On first examination I felt that the blades were a bit flimsy and the plastic cover was not a snap to secure with the plastic tabs. After this was accomplished the fan worked well and on low was not too noisy for a master bedroom. The quantity of air moved was impressive and the fact that it could be tilted back and facing the ceiling was a good position for a breeze that would not blow papers from the top of the desk. There are the usual 3 speeds one expects but also 3 automatic off settings of 1,2 and 4 hours respectively. The remote control requires 2AAA batteries which are not included. The remote must be aimed properly or it will not work. The price paid at Amazon for this fan represented a good value and I am in general pleased with this purchase. In the past I have been disappointed in the lifespan of the newer inexpensive fans, time will be the judge. Assembled in the United States. The price of $42 is very reasonable and I have ordered 2 as I would imagine that the current price can only increase over time.

This is a great fan. Very sturdy base, won't fall over. The low speed is better than the high speed was on our old fan. This fan pushes out a great amount of air in a room. We have this in our 20' X 20' bedroom and it does a great job circulating the air around in the room. It is very easy to put together, no tools needed. The front grill was out of round and did not fit onto the rear grill so I started the top three snaps, then I used wire ties to hold the top three snaps in place and continued snapping the front grill onto the rear grill. i had everything together within 15 minutes and the fan on. I still gave this fan a 5 star rating - great price too.

The fan just arrived and was in fact easy to assemble. The grill has a front and back which snap together with 8 plastic snaps that appear to be on the fragile side, but didn't break (yet). Beware! "Six comfort settings plus natural breeze" is VERY misleading. In fact, there are only three speed settings; low, medium, and high (rather noisy on high speed I must admit) and three settings for the timer of 1, 2, and 4 hours. Natural breeze must be leave the fan off and open your window??? The remote works o.k. (once you install your own two AAA bateries) and the timer is a nice feature if you tend to leave a room and forget to turn the fan off like me. Overall, I'd say it's a good value.

They say a man loves his remotes! I don't know if that's true but I do love this fan. It puts out alot of air and it does it by remote control. The only problem I have with it is the remote is very small. I know that will be a plus for some, but I have a tendency to misplace things and my wife is not always around to help find them. Some have said that it is a little loud. I personally do not think for the amount of air it pushes it is loud. I think you will enjoy this useful fan!
