Why You Suck at Golf: 50 Most Common Mistakes by Recreational Golfers

Funny Golf Book - but full of Great Information!!
My husband and I are both Golfers. I bought this book for him for his 82nd birthday. His friends got a big laugh out of it, and so did I, but it also is full of a lot of little hints and common sense stuff about golf! I'm using it as much as he is! Great little fun gift because of the title of the book, but in the end, it's actually helping us remember basic stuff you forget in golf. Very entertaining book.

Great read..very good stuff.
An entertaining book with many great entries. I'd like to add a few more:51. Most golfers don't practice their short game enough. I've been in countless foursomes and can count on one hand how many golfers had impressive short game skill. Hitting a big drive is great, but if you suck from 100 yards in..well..you're gonna suck.52. Most golfers don't know what good impact is. Meaning angle of attack, forward shaft lean, weight transfer, swing patch, etc. They don't strike the ball solid because they don't know what they're supposed to be doing.53. Golf is a very mental game, and most golfers don't have a confident, enthusiastic, winning attitude. Their minds are filled with doubt when they setup to the ball, often creating tension and poor shots.54. The golf swing--done correctly--is a very athletic movement, and many golfers are just not very athletic.55. Many golfers have never had a lesson, but instead choose to buy the latest driver for $500 and use ProV1 balls, neither of which will help them.

Great for friends who are trying to get better at golf and you want to mess with them.
Product was great for a gift and I got the reaction I expected when given to my friend. He did tell me he read it and it actually included some good tips but I still hope it doesn't help him improve.

You're a lousy shopper too
This is more of a pamphlet than an actual book. Plenty of golf jokes & a few helpful tips you've already heard of. Maybe a gag gift for the golfer acquaintance you have no idea what to buy. A real golfer just wants more balls.

Gain Simplicity and Consistency to your Golf Experience
Clive Scarff's "Why You Suck at Golf" is a collection of observation that not just a pro but anyone else can sympathize with after maybe only one round or two at a golf course. While perhaps not every notion in this books applies to everyone, I found myself easily turning the pages either telling myself "Yep, I do that, and why do I do that?" or more often "I know someone that does that."If anything, Scarff offers you plenty of ways to simplify the game of golf and several small consistencies from shot strategy to course etiquette. For the price and the fact most could read in under an hour, I was very satisfied with the book and immediately applied ideas that I knew I could change in my game. In the next round I played after finishing the book I showed up earlier, had a modest snack/drink with me, I emptied out 30 golf balls from my bag and replaced those with 10 of the exact same ball, I made sure to do a complete circle around all my greens/putts to see it from all angles. I didn't necessarily score better, but I felt consistent. I felt less sloppy. That's what I wanted from this book, and Clive Scarff delivered.

Funny but very helpful
It’s more for comedy but everything in this book is very true and it’s such basic stuff that your really don’t think about that will improve your game

It doesn’t suck
Fun, breezy read that has some good advice. The app says I need to add twelve more words. Good job.

now I know
I've played this wonderful crazy game of golf, on and off, for a number of years now and had numerous lessons from excellent professionals but this book hit the spot. It laid out in simple language and with humour just what I had been doing wrong for so long. It was made so clear which is not easy to do in the written word, especially with something as complex as the golf swing, reams have been written about it but this is among the best if not the best. After reading this I purchased the author's other great work, 'Hit down, dam n it.' Another gem and together they have revolutionised my game. Brilliant. Bring it on.
