A company you can trust.
Amazing customer service! Wanted to lead with this because I had an issue about 6 months in whereby the guage was draining batteries within days. I contacted the company and they sent me a whole new unit. Promptly and kindly. The unit works great and I appreciate the history it keeps. It’s as accurate as I need it to be. The only thing I wish is that it would give outside temp, but not a big deal.Easy to assemble and set up. I would definitely purchase from this company again.

Great Rain Gauge!
Very easy to install and program the remote display settings. I've been using this for 1 1/2 years now and still working great! It appears that it is very accurate, although I haven't run any calibration tests. I'm finally done using my binoculars to check my old tube type gauge, and having to go out and empty it after every rain! The remote provides more than enough rainfall readings to keep an engineer happy. It also provides INDOOR temp and humidity readings which I think is unnecessary. Now if they'd add OUTSIDE temp and humidity that would be nice!

Mostly Good, but major issues!!
Worked off and on for 2.5 years, the biggest problem with it was birds pooping in it and spiders getting inside and building nests. I put a tiny bit of chlorine tablet inside it, that took care of the spiders and a red flag waving over it, that stopped most of the birds from using it as a landing pad and toilet. Now, the swivel shaft inside is rusted (see picture) and prevents the dipper from moving. If they would spend an extra dollar and use a stainless steel shaft, I would give it a 5 star. I found it to be fairly accurate by comparing it to the swimming pool level.

Great Product!
I've been using the WH40 for about two months now. It's been a great unit. Seems to be built well. Wasn't hard to set up. Seem to be very accurate when comparing averages locally in my area.UPDATE 3-1-22!!Unit stopped working about 4 months ago. This was a replacement for a unit that had similar issues. The problem I had with both of my units had to do with the Reed Switch that works with the magnet that is connected to the cup that fills with water. When the water fills, it pushes down the cup and the magnet moves by the reed switch and that tells the unit it was full. Being these switches are delicate, they tend to go bad after a while. I ended up swapping out the bad switch with basic electronics soldering and it appears to be working again. Not sure if this is an on going problem with these units, but figured I'd share my experience. Still 5 stars based on price and great customer service experience.

Great support.
My WH40 Wireless Self-Emptying Rain Gauge Sensor, Rainfall Collector failed several weeks ago. I purchased it last year in July. I contacted support and was informed that it would be replaced. I sent them my Amazon invoice number and my address. Several days later I received a new unit. I was extremely satisfied with the entire process.I have their weather station (ECOWITT Wittboy Weather Station GW2001), and I absolutely love how easy it was to setup and integrate with HOME ASSISTANT. I use the WH40 add-on as it is more accurate than the included Piezo rain gauge.

Seriously flawed design
This was designed by someone who had not heard of surface tension, followed probably by marketing deciding to sell it anyway after testing it. The basic problem is the funnel is far too flat and light rain simply beads up and does not flow down right away into the tipping bucket. Eventually droplets do coalesce together and get to the bucket, but the rain measurements such as hourly and rain rate are meaningless. I intended this to be a backup for my Ambient Weather Station (which BTW is well worth the money) in case its funnel clogged up. I also have a Stratus manual rain gauge for calibrating the station, so I have real, trustworthy data to compare it too.Presumably this gauge does better as the rain rate increases, but since it is totally worthless for measuring typical Seattle rain, I returned it before I got the chance to test that. Other reviews have suggested it is also worthless at very high rain rates. There might be some intermediate rain rates where it does ok, but you may never know when that is because clearly its acccuracy (using the term very loosely) is a function of the rain rate and surface tension of the funnel surface at the time it is raining. The one redeeming feature of this instrument (and is one reason I purchased it) is that it can be calibrated (in the software). However, other than that the display and software is only marginally ok. I never could figure out what the hokey bars on the left were supposed to show. But so what if the basic measurements are garbage...As for installation, it needs to provide easy ability to install to a vertical surface, as others have mentioned. For a country that can return moon samples to earth I expect a lot better.

Functional Remote Reporting Rain Guage
We purchased our rain gauge in October of 2020. It is mounted at the top of a 10 foot (3.048 Meters) pole about 12 feet (3.6576 Meters) from our home. The battery life is exceptional with the same Energizer AA Ultimate Lithium battery still providing 5 bar signal strength on the indoor display. The unit was easily mounted at the top of a length of 1 inch ( 25.4 mm) EMT conduit that we attached to an existing fence post. We are comfortable with the level of accuracy reported as a guide for garden watering. The other data reported is just a cherry on top.
