I have bought lots of spreaders for my properties. This was the best yet.Well built and everything held up except the most important part. Despite being cleaned and lubricated at the end of each season the gears are locked up and the whole thing is unusable. It should have had a grease fitting to keep the gear box lubed.I see they have an even more expensive one that does. This annoys me as I only got three seasons out of this one.

We acquired this salt spreaders because it utilized stainless steel (sst) components. The prior steel units rusted badly.Assembly required attention to detail. Hardware was not uniquely identified to match the instructions. Assembly was pictorially represented. Careful attention to details of the pictures is required.We spread Morton Safe-T-Salt. Having used the 82108 a couple of times, we found that we had to remove the plastic mesh screen to achieve reasonable salt flow from the hopper. Once we did that, it seems to work well.

Received the spreader today and the instructions were a bit confusing. It would have been nice if the numbers used in the instructions matched the numbers on the parts package. Also, the screw type auger shown in the pictures did not show up with the spreader. Trying to figure out how to contact seller.

I thought this would be a great product to sand our long driveway, but it is not. The sand/salt gets plugged up especially if it’s damp and it won’t filter through. Basically, we can only use it to fill with sand, roll it up the driveway, then use a small shovel to disperse it.

Tried a number of these for spreading ice melt. This is the best one I've tried so far. It has actually lasted onto 2nd winter.

Plastic pieces were broken when I opened the box. The is the second unit that arrived like this.

The spreader seems to be very well built although the design of the hopper could have a steeper angle around the inlet portion of the hopper. Had issues with the inlet allowing enough material into the propeller ( had to continuously shake spreader to get only a small amount of material to drop into the propeller ) after redesigning the inlet it works very well.

This is well built and heavy duty. The instructions are horrible and you’ll need to figure out a few steps solo. That said, it should be perfect for my needs.

We use this spreader on a commercial property that takes up a city block. We are using it to spread a mix of salt, ice melt, calcium flakes and sand.Overall the unit is well constructed, is easy to push with 100 lb load, and gives a good spread pattern. We have reduced the amount of product spread by about 40%. This is partially due to the adjustable spread deflectors.When we first used the spreader with a mixture of salt, sand and calcium in the hopper there seemed to be an intermittent amount of the mixture dropping through the sliding gate. When this happens, just tilt the spreader forward a bit, it usually corrects the problem. We also empty the spreader and blow off the caked on salt around the gate and the shoot every now and then.

It doesn't work at all. Poorly made, a piece of garbage. Total waste of money.

works very well, spreads salt uniformly, the cover is important because if it does not have one and it is snowing, clumps can form, & the cover is usually an option which would increase the cost but with this it is included.

This is a good product and was shipped as promised.
