I bought this memory to take my 2020 vintage iMac from the 8GB it came with to 72GB. As others have noted, you do have to wait about 1 full minute after installing this memory for the iMac to boot. The memory has been great so far. No issues. I've noticed that my VMs run very fast now and Libre Office loads very quickly. Here's how the memory was configured on my iMac to begin with: Top. - Empty - 4GB - Empty Bottom - 4GB Now here's how I set it up after adding this memory (2 x 32GB) Top. - 4GB - 32GB - 4GB Bottom - 32GB Be careful when adding memory as it can be a little tricky to get the modules fully pushed in. I had 2 that actually weren't fully in after the change and my iMac wouldn't boot, so I checked, pushed in the loose ones, and it booted after about 1 minute. Note also the orientation of the slot at the bottom of the memory modules as this is designed to make the modules only go one way into their slots. If you feel like it won't fit, check the slot to make sure the module is facing in the correct direction. You can remove an existing module to compare and check the orientation.

It is exactly what I needed - My I Mac is now running better than ever. Its easy to install. Just Lay it flat on a blanket (to protect screen), Remove Power cord, push the button, Memory door open - Install it, Close the door, plug it in, stand it up and turn it on. It takes a while longer on 1st boot as it configures memory. I run 2 additional external ultra wide monitors each partitioned in to 2 logical monitors and run many many many windows - the Mac does not even lag or hiccup. Best upgrade I ever did to any machine I own. Theres great installation videos and documents on the web just google it. If you have existing memory look up the best slots to put it all in (Pic has my configuration)

Ordered this product online some time after ordering my iMac. The Ram arrived before the iMac. So kudos for that. I was a little concerned that the plastic package arrived in a bubble wrap envelope, without a box, considering how rough shipping can be; but the package appeared undamaged and the RAM was intact. The installation is as easy as can be: 1. push a button, 2. remove the lid, 3. release the retainer clips, elevating the RAM slot board, 4. insert the RAM, 5. replace the retainer clips, lowering the board, 6. replace the lid. The only issue is being sure to install the RAM in the correct slots, if you have more than one size in the machine. Instructions are included. Still it helped to watch a few of the many videos online. The RAM was instantly recognized and has been flawless to date. I'll revise this if there are any problems down the road. Overall, ...ordering, shipment, installation and use have been about as transparent they could possibly be.

No brainer upgrade on the iMac. Needed a boost on the i7 iMac when streaming in multiple windows. Also makes Sims less laggy 🤣

Works in my 2020 27inch 5K iMac. But when 16GB of this are paired with an existing 16GB Module that was in my iMac (the other original 16GB module had failed) the two modules (one original and this one) only ran at 2133 MHz instead of their rated 2666 MHz. The memory controller in the iMac slowed things down because they were not an exact pair, down to the module manufacturer. You can buy this exact same module as a pair here on Amazon. When I installed those I was at 2666 MHz. Don’t mix and match different manufacturers as pairs, even if both modules have the same high level specs. Only buy this module if you are buying two. And as mentioned in other reviews, your first thought is the stuff doesn’t work because the iMac takes a frighteningly long time to recognize the new memory on the first start-up. Match the memory, be patient, and it works great.
