Works as advertised.
Works as advertised. Good value for the money. I have no idea about the durability of this device since I haven't used it very long.

Works perfectly
I am an Amateur radio operator using a rack of external audio processing equipment. I have a good, balanced line microphone for my mixer (RE27), but I wanted to also try an old Electret microphone. First I tried the quickie solution of balanced-to-unbalanced connection, shorting the negative pin to the ground or common pin. The mic. worked, but with a 120HZ hum even with the shielded cable. I purchased this handy transformer to convert unbalanced to balanced and the hum disappeared and with proper EQ, the old mike sounds beautiful.I plan to buy a few more of these to connect other unbalanced mics to my mixer.

This raises impedance of a low-Z contact mic.
As soon as I plugged my cheap little contact mic into this and then into my recorder all the bass showed up. Without this, or something like it, you can't get the full spectrum of frequencies. Yeah it sux that the mic doesn't work well without it, but the mics are only $5 or less.

a must for sound systems, stops buzzing and feedback.
You must buy this to switch from low impedance to low xlr impedance or visaversa, other wise you will have buzzing and feedback from your mics, especially on your stage monitors.

Great for use with contact mics
The quality of on these is good. I bought myself a couple to use with JRF contact microphones and occasionally Korg CM300 that I use for similar purposes to gather sound effects etc.The sound quality is good, adding plenty of lower end to the sound which you otherwise wouldn’t get from contact based microphones due to their high impedance. These allow for impedance matching so that you can get the best sound from piezo based contact microphones. These are good value - and I say this having used them for a while now with them still working.I’ve seen people have concerns over the quality in other reviews, but I’ve had these for a lengthy time and used them extensively and so far they are still in tact. I may be lucky, or others may have been unlucky perhaps, but the quality seems good to me.They do exactly what I need them to and are nice and portable for taking out in the field.

Garbage. Buy another brand.
It seems I'm not alone in this issue. The adaptor is very flimsy and arrived with poor or no existent soldering and split apart in my hand. When i contacted HOSA about this dead on arrival product. They told me that if I want a replacement then i need to pay for postage from Germany. As with most things now, you are best avoiding the big name brand and going for the cheapest option as there is very little difference in quality or standard.
