disclaimer: i am the average guy that does this for a hobby. i used to have mirrorless cameras and dslr's and thought they were too much for what i wanted to achieve, even though those devices are far superior in my opinion. i sold off those expensive cameras and invested in my cell phone. i picked up a wide angle v2 18mm lens from moment and then needed a good microphone for audio and this looked like the best fit.upon initial unboxing, you get the normal paperwork and silica gel. i love that they include a windscreen AND a deadcat even though i most likely will jsut stick to the windscreen. it comes with an actual clip that stabilizes the microphone to the smartphone. it surprisingly had a good build quality feel to it. it wasnt light cheap plastic, but not overly heavy which was a good counterbalance to the phone when using a lens. audio is louder. there is a noticeable gain over the onboard microphone. there is also a 3.5mm headphone jack at the back of the microphone which i guess you can use to monitor the audio. overall i am very impressed with the value for this microphone. i would highly recommend this (for phones that still have the headphone jack) over the rode counterparts as i believe those are slightly overpriced for a similar product.i think this item paired, with a joby/manfrotto smartphone tripod and some moment lense would make a killer mobile vlogging rig at a fraction of the cost of the mirrorless and dslr combinations, which is perfect for a mild enthusiast like me.

This microphone is good if you want to start out doing some recording for youtube videos or voice over and you cant afford a camera to record on. It worked great with my s8 plus phone. I even did tests to see the difference between my phones mic and this mic and the difference was definitely noticable. The build quality is good and it was cool to see that they included a dead cat to block out wind and other noises if you need to record outside. By me being a youtuber and owning a camera the only downside I would say would be the price. I felt it was a little much for a phone mic and like I said earlier I'd you cant afford a mirrorless or dslr to record on this is a nice investment but I would start by saving money on an external mic and get something better to record on. Otherwise great sound and quality!

Works well on an iPhone 8 Plus with the Apple adaptor. I managed to use the included tool to keep it on the phone between the adaptor and the include rubber piece, but I wouldn’t shake it a lot otherwise it could fall off. With a headphone jack phone it would be very snug. Still worked great and build quality is solid! Full metal. Sounds great at well. Comica makes some good budget equipment. The headphone jack is a nice extra touch.

My review is nevertheless completely honest.I'm a full-time video producer and use/have used many microphones.The Comica mic definitely does it's job as a shotgun mic (cutting out ambient sound and focusing it's field of recording to a narrow channel of wherever it's pointed).My only problem with this mic is that it's a 1/8th jack and this makes it difficult to use with the newer iPhones. You can use an adapter, but I had trouble making it work well. The dongle adapter caused static when getting too tightly twisted.Aside from this issue, the Comica mic is great. It's well built. The sound quality is excellent. It has an audio jack for monitoring and it includes a foam screen and wind screen attachment.

Not a bag mic. It's very rugged, i have no doubt out will last on the trail. (I do out for and hiking videos.) It's easy to attach to the phone and the holder holds it in place nicely.My only complaint is the wind muff. It's a joke. The opening in the muff is almost twice the size of the mic and just falls off. One of the main reasons I bought this mic is to reduce the wind noise on my videos. I ended up using some black thead to stitch the muff opening so that it's the same size as the mic. Now it doesn't fall off as easy but the wind blows it around on the mic creating a scratching nose. Quite disappointed. Why would you make a good sounding mic and couple it with a wind muff that's not usable?

The media could not be loaded.  The microphone easily connects via the headphone jack on my phone and can be clamped securely into position via the included clasp. I have an iphone 8 and while it says this is compatible when you use the conversion cord iphone gives you, it's impossible to get it to connect properly and stay on the phone. It's worthless with a newer iphone.

I am a fan of Comica microphones and use them all the time with my mirrorless cameras. This mobile phone mic seems to be a retooled version of the Comica VM10II and works just as well. Solid sound quality and a rugged design on par with the Rode Video Micro. My only wish is that there was a better mechanism for keeping the microphone from spinning in the jack. The little tab that they provide helps, but is not really strong enough to stop a bump from changing the mics direction.

I can’t use it with my iPhone XS Max yet it states you can use with your iPhone
