Be Nice to Spiders Library Binding – Picture Book, September 13, 1967

My kids grew up on this book 35 years ago, so I was delighted to get another copy for my grandkids. Such a sweet story.

The book arrived NEW and immediately brought back memories. This is the ONLY book I can remember that my mom actually read to me, as a child. Bought it for my expecting grandchild. I still respect the spiders and everytime I see one, to this day, I always say to myself - BE NICE TO SPIDERS.....

I loved this book as a kid, and still love it as a grandmother. It's not perfect (all the zoo employees are men, the zoo has the tiny cages of its era) but Helen the spider is a hero and the humans she encounters learn to appreciate and respect her in the end.

I’m a retired Children’s librarian. I always loved this book and think of it whenever I succeed in not stepping on a spider or injuring or killing any other creature. So glad to own the book and possibly share it with others,

I love the story and the message it brings.The book is well made and strong.I purchased the library binding one and am very pleased. Great book to add to your home or classroom library.

I love this book, and give it to every kid I know. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is because I purchased the full price more expensive book since it was supposed to be new, instead of purchasing a cheaper used version. I'm giving this to my very first nephew ever, and wanted it to be perfect. The inside of the book is okay, but the dust jacket is torn, dented, and has markings on the bag from misuse. It does not make this book seem new. I'm going to have to gift it without the dust jacket, because with it on, this book looks like I've had it for years and years.

I read this book as a child and now am reading it to my grand kids. It has a great message, wonderful art and is just the right length. I highly recommend it! Especially for those who may not like spiders. This explains why they are useful and should not be killed.

My nephew LOVES spiders and this book. According to my sister, it is now his go to. He has the first few pages memorized and after his first few days with it he would walk around the house just randomly saying, "Be nice to spiders."It is a sweet little book that I enjoyed reading myself before I gave it to him. The art work in it is similar to the drawing style in which many of our favorite children's books were illustrated.I am pretty sure this is one he will be reading to his kids one day.

My Granddaughter really enjoyed this book.
