Maxam 33PC Glass Chess Set [Toy]

Arrived in perfect condition. Well-packaged. No complaints at all. I'm happy with the chess set.

It’s beautiful but one piece came with no crown! Yes the queen; looks broken, we can still play but not sure to put it in a living room with my son taking risk to cut himself!

Looks good, feels good. But the packaging was absolutely terrible. Since it's glass on glass (glass pieces on a glass board), there is felt on the bottom of every piece. For two or three of the pieces, the felt was stuck to the styrofoam, leaving it completely useless. There was one or two broken pieces as well. For the price, this is NOT worth your time to buy this product just to have to return it the next day.

The board was a nice thickness and I really liked the shape of the pieces. The pieces also had some weight to them, which I liked. They were not solid, the bottom was caved, probably to make the pieces lighter and cheaper to make. That made the taller pieces somewhat top heavy, but nothing too bad; overall not something that would have bothered me, except for the fact that they clearly weren't uniform. Some of the pieces also had bubbles in the glass. The other problem with the pieces was that at the seam where some of the glass come through the mold, not all of the excess glass was chipped off and smoothed, making the pieces look cheap. Overall, this chess set is trying to be good, just isn't quite getting there.Also, a note on packaging and shipping. My star review refers only to the set itself. The pieces were well protected, but the board, by far the weakest thing, was only protected by the thinnest of styrofoam. When it arrived it was not cracked, not broken, but shattered into about a hundred pieces.

Looks like it would have been a very nice set. It arrived completely shattered and I got glass in my finger. So, needless to say the package should have been wrapped much better.
