A romantic comedy triple bill. In 'She's All That' soccer team captain Zack (Freddie Prinze Jr) is one of the most popular guys at his High School, and he's a little upset when his girlfriend Taylor (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) dumps him so she can go out with a TV star (Matthew Lillard). Nevertheless, he insists that she is replaceable and makes a bet with his best friend Dean that he could turn any girl at the school into a Prom Queen. Dean takes the bet and nominates miserablist wierdo Laney (Rachael Leigh Cook) as the lucky girl. Undaunted, our hero sets to work... In 'French Kiss', Kate (Meg Ryan) is shocked to discover that her fiancé has fallen in love with another woman during a business trip to Paris and resolves to win him back. Arriving in Paris, she has a chance encounter with Luc (Kevin Kline), an annoying but sexy Frenchman who is searching for a missing necklace. Fate conspires to throw the pair together, and they go on an adventure across France, searching for Kate's fiancé and Luc's necklace. Whilst in 'Down to You' it's love at first sight for Al (Freddie Prinze Jr again) and Imogen (Julia Stiles) when they meet at a bar in New York City and the pair are soon involved in a relationship. But with all the temptations around them - parties, drugs, other partners - their future as a couple looks less than secure.

Good
Like so many films of its time (Grease comes to mind), the premise of this film is that if you change how you look and everything else about yourself, a popular cool kid might fall in love with you (I’m simplifying but you get the gist). I still liked it though which maybe makes me a little twisted. The spoof Not Another Teen Movie parodies this film massively so you know it’s good.

Paul Walker before Fast and Furious.
Starring the beautiful Paul Walker. I went to the pictures with my Mum to see this film about 15 years ago after seeing the trailer on the television. We then bought it on video and now finally replaced it on DVD. It is a classic American High School Prom Romantic/Comedy with Rachael Leigh Cook cast perfectly as Laney Boggs who is transformed from geek to chic. Particularly like the dance routine to Fatboy Slims 'Rockafeller Skank' with Usher as the DJ and also features a fantastic track 'Believe' by Goldie which is played in the background at the prom and the lovely 'Kiss Me' by Sixpence None The Richer which is used in Dawson's Creek aswell.

Golden but not Quite Oldie
Good old high school fun. On a par with most of the 80's John Hughes films with the similar/standard story line. Bit predictable but will kill a couple of hours and a tub of ice-cream on a Saturday night and the kids love it!
