Decided to get into wood carving(whittling) and ordered a set of knives similar to these on Temu tried them and was very disappointed so I ordered this set of Flex Craft knives and comparing the tools is like night and day. I did read that when choosing tools for wood carving one should buy only good quality tools and believe me they were right these knives fit your hand so much nicer and hold an edge perfectly if there stropped as needed didn't need any sharpening out of the package there good and sharp wear gloves if your new to wood carving and you'll have no problems. Can't forget to mention there made in U.S.A.

I'm still using them after a month with no issues, they work great and feel great in my hands.

I found these knives to be easy to handle, relatively sharp right out of the package, and simple to keep sharp. They kept an edge well even when working through hard knots and dried sap. The price for the set seems reasonable and the tools seem well constructed.Most of my woodworking experience has involved power tools, but I recently received Working Wood 1 & 2: the Artisan Course with Paul Sellers as a birthday gift, and I am exploring Paul's coursework for woodworking using only unpowered hand tools. He explains that he not only wants to preserve old craftsman knowledge, but that every woodworker will gain a deeper understanding of grain and joinery by working on some projects using only hand tools. I had some cedar and lilac branches from my yard that came down in a heavy snow, so I invited my retired father over and we spent a Saturday afternoon in the basement creating the first projects from the woodworking course book. We used a handsaw, rasp, gouge and this set of carving knives to carve wooden spatulas and spoons. I finished them with a little olive oil and have been using them regularly in my kitchen,

Good steel, great handles, arrived workably sharp. Well put together. Probably the best of the non-boutique brands. Can be improved with a bit of work and a proper strop and compound, but good right out of the box. Love the handles. Better overall construction than the Beavercraft, but similar good performance. Protective cases/sheaths suck, when they're even available. They get the job done, and if you're willing to put in a bit of work, they can be exceptional.

This is my second set of knives. The first set were a little cheaper that's why I got them. The first set would not hold an edge and never seemed shape enough. I'm very much a beginner and before giving up I decided to try a better set of knives. I'm glad I did , these are great knives and are easy to sharpen and hold the edge good. I would recommend these to anyone starting out.

I have been carving for over 50 years and have a variety of knives. This is a great set for any carver from beginner to expert.

I like these knives for whittling and carving. There are some very expensive knives for sale, but since I was not sure how much I would enjoy getting back into whittling / carving, I didn't want to spend a lot of money to get back into this. It has been many years since I did any whittling / carving and then it was with a so so pocket knife. These fit my hand nice and are easy to control. They hold their edge well and with the honing compound, that was part of the kit and a leather strop (I made) the razor edge can be maintained with a little practice using a strop. YouTube has plenty of good videos on how to do this as does Flexcut. As these knives are so sharp I recommend have cut resistant glove and finger thumb guards or lots of bandaids .
