Really pleased
My previous case was fine for an aging i5 processor but when my motherboard gave up the ghost, I upgraded to an AMD Ryzen 3600. I hadn’t paid any attention to the cpu temperatures but it appears that these have a tendency to run hot and I suspect that the stock cooler is unable to keep it at acceptable temperatures. I don’t know if excessive temperatures were the cause but the original AMD failed after about 3 months.Fortunately, AMD replaced the failed chip under warranty and having read about overheating issues, I decided to treat myself to a new case and cooler. I built a machine for my wife about a year ago so I’d seen that modern cases have space at the back for the wires to run, allowing more efficient air flow. This case has plenty of space so that even the thick wire that powers the motherboard could rattle about if I were to shake the case. Also, I wanted a case that allowed me to keep my DVD writer and this case hides it behind a front door. When I started building the machine, I was very impressed with the quality of both its design and the materials and components. The steel sides are sturdy and have sound deadening attached. The drives can be arranged in a variety of ways on caddies that have rubber suspension mounts to reduce the vibrations. The large cooling fans seem to move plenty of air.The case is sat on a carpet and to prevent excessive dust being hoovered up by the power supply, which is located at the bottom, I installed it fan-up so that it draws air from inside the case. That said, there are plenty of filters at the top, bottom and front so perhaps that wasn’t necessary. Unusually, the bottom filter, which covers the whole of the base, can be removed from the front if it needs a clean. The case can be configured in a variety of ways. I left it more or less as supplied although I did remove unused drive caddies to assist cooling. I decided not to opt for the glass sides; potentially something to smash and I’m not wanting a pretty LED showI do like the overall look but I would have preferred the power button and USB ports to be located on the front rather than the top. I have pressed the power button accidentally during the build.I can’t say what the temperatures were in the old set up but the cpu is currently oscillating between 20 and 33 oC. Overall, I’m really pleased that I chose this case. It oozes quality, the fittings are all provided and everything that I’ve used hasn’t needed any fettling, they just fit. The marketing of this case emphasises how quiet the case is and I am delighted with the near silent machine sat next to my desk.Expensive but worth the money if you want a decent quality case.

Pure class
As with my previous Fractal case, an R4, this thing just oozes quality and class. It was a joy to build a PC around this case, and the resulting machine looks elegant and understated. There was plenty of internal space for an RTX 3070 card even with the drive bay in-situ, and cable management was a breeze. The stock cooling does a good job, with component temperatures staying around 40 degrees (I've got an NZXT liquid CPU cooler with blowing out the rear vent). Noise levels are very low, and it's virtually silent except when the PC is under load.Buying this really is a no-brainer if you like the way it looks. It delivers well in all areas and should last for years.

Flexible, quiet, well built and great looking case
I was looking for a case for a new build PC and wanted a mid-tower that would fit on my desk, could take an ATX board, was quiet, had at least one optical drive bay, a decent number of hard drive bays and a reasonable number of ports on the front. My initial choice was the Corsair Carbide 678C although I found it didn't fit in the space where I wanted and it's difficult finding suitable cases as most now focus on lots of fans, RGB lights and few HDD bays and no optical drives. The Fractal Define R6 was pretty much exactly what I was looking for and now having built the PC I'm extremely pleased with the case.I chose the gunmetal colour and originally wanted the solid side which I couldn't find in stock so instead had to go for the tempered glass side which now I've built the PC I think looks great and given the choice again would definitely go with that rather than the solid side. The case comes with three fans fitted (two front, one rear) and a PWM hub although I've plugged all the fans directly into the motherboard. All the screws needed to build the PC are supplied all conveniently separated into their own bags to make it easy to identify them although you'll need your own sata cables. It is possible to fit a GPU with a twin slot cooler at 90 degrees to the motherboard although the riser cable isn't included and looks to be around £40 for an official one.I went with the following spec - AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, Noctua DH 15 cooler, 4 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB, Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII motherboard, Nvidia GTX 1070 FE, Intel WiGig PCIE, Corsair RM850x PSU, one 2.5in SSD, four 3.5in hard drives and one optical drive. The large Noctua cooler fits fine over the small-ish ram, I believe the case will take an AIO cooler but it may mean no space for the optical drive. The case is extremely well designed and very easy to built, there's plenty of gaps around the motherboard to allow cables to be fed through giving the PC a very clean look. The main six hard drive bays are positioned down the front of the PC with the optical drive bay at the top while the additional pair of 2.5in drives go flat against the rear of the motherboard. The only slight annoyance with this arrangement is it makes it tricky to get a single power lead to feed both but can't see any easier way to do it. The front case ports are a bit of a fiddle as there's a separate cable for audio, usb-c, usb 2.0, usb3.0, power button, reset button, power light and storage light but that's the only way to do it and I definitely appreciate having USB2.0 still as I find some devices are not as backwards compatible as they should be.On first power up of the PC I thought I'd not connected the fans properly as it was so quiet but checked and sure enough, everything was spinning as it should. Even under load the PC remains amazingly quiet with the only audible noise coming from the GPU and the hard drives. The filters for the top, front and bottom of the case all easily slide out for maintenance. While it's a reasonably expensive case I don't feel it's bad value for money as it's exceptionally well designed and it's great quality. I'm extremely pleased with the case and hope to be using it for many years.

One of the best cases available for a home server or general pc build
What is there not to like ? This case has it all, it is compact in size, but holds a vast array of drives, about 12 x 2.5" hard drives with an extra 4 x ssd's. It has removable side panels both sound damped steel panels, opening front panel also sound dampened, removable top panel with ventilation grille. Included 3 x 140mm quiet fans with a fan controller board. Removable dust filters at the top front and base. Multiple radiator support options. Internal layout options with removable internal panels for an open case or server case build. USB C support on front panel. PSU rear access, fully removable from the rear of the case. Excellent clearance for cable routing at the side and many cable management options with Velcro ties makes it easy to cable manage. Impressive case design and high quality.
