By Clever Craft Tools Better than gloves to move your quilt with ease for free motion quilting. Grip and Stitch quilting disks can be used with any sewing or quilting machine. Lower the feed dogs as some machines work better with them lowered, others work well with them in their normal position. With the larger disk in your left hand, and the smaller disk in your right hand, place them onto your quilt and you are ready to begin quilting. Use the disks to move the quilt under the presser foot while you stitch at your desired speed, always runnint the machine faster than your hands are moving.

Very awkward to use for me.
These have great grip on the quilt but it feels very awkward when moving the quilt under the needle. I'm not a fan.

Good, but a learning curve
I’ve only used these once and they are going to take some getting used to. It tired of taking my quilting gloves on and off while quilting, so thought I would give these a try. I think I will like them once I get used to using them.

Saved my hands!
These work great! Was totally surprised by how easy it was to move a queen size quilt through the sewing machine and control the entire quilt. I was worried that they would only move the top and not the full sandwich but the pads moved the entire quilt with very little pressure from my hands. Have already showed them off to other quilters!

Good grippy discs
The discs are a great help with FMQ. They don’t slip on the fabric at all but provide a nice grip as the quilt is moved around. I have a mid arm machine so don’t need discs of two different sizes but if sewing on a DSM then the two different discs would be better. A little pricey so 4 stars

My machine configuration not well suited, but I like the idea.
I loved the idea of these, and wanted to avoid having to wear gloves, taking them on and off. I think they might work better for me if I had a machine setup with more throat space. As it is, I don't have much room to maneuver, and spent a lot of time adjusting these and running into the sides of the machine and table. I can see they might work better if I had a deeper throat space on my machine, and if I was doing simpler quilting. So I think they are a great idea, and if I get another setup will try them again. For now, I ended up going back to the gloves. The grip was good.

Better than expected!
So much better then I anticipated. Just finished machine quilting a king sized quilt and they worked great. They grip better than the gloves I normally wear and they are thick enough to comfortably grip. Very happy.
