Fantastic cooler backpack, that can be used for more than just picnics!
So I’ve had this backpack for about a week now. I didn’t recive it free, for product review. That being said, all the opinions are my (and my husbands) alone. Also I take product reviews very seriously, because I am very ill, so I can’t shop for things in person often, I do most of my shopping here on amazon. All of that out of the way, my first impressions when I looked at the product online, I was impressed with its claims, and was excited to see if it lived up to them and the price. Now that I’ve had it for a while and have been throughly testing it, let me say...damn. This has lived up to all of my expectations and surpassed it. When I first picked up the box I was concerned with how light it was. When I think of any fabric cooler, I want it to have some weight to be able to handle ice and bottles ect... What I discovered when I opened is that they made a lightweight backpack without skimping. I assumed the cooler fabric would be chinsey, boy was I wrong. It is thick and very durable, also it drys out really well so I don’t have to worry about mold and mildew. Which is huge deal in my house, because mold and mildew send me to the hospital. My next concern was that it would leak...and again the back pack proved me wrong! I filled it all the way with water (see pics) left it outside for 2 days, checking on it periodically. Not a single drop was came out of the bag! I did notice when filling that water will go through the zipper, but I didn’t expect it not to. I have never seen a water tight zipper. The last thing I was quite surprised by, was the side mesh pockets...can they really hold two wine bottles securely? Well I’ll be damned they can! Not only are they tall to hold the bottles up right, but they are in there pretty good! I did a thorough jostling test and they stayed put! Here’s the overall thoughtsPros:lightweight without being Chintzy Holds wine bottles super wellVery water tight and well insulatedLots of space, I mean lots!Stands up straight (for packing in items) on its own when it’s not full.Comfortable to wear, with lots of adjustment for different sizes and shapes.Good organization in not cooler pockets.Cons: which are cons for me but might not be for you...Stitching in a few places wasn’t cleaned up, for the price I would have like to see the end stitches clipped and neat. The tool works but is unnecessary and kind of largeThe reflective strap works great and is a Beni fit for a lot of situations. However on a camo bag, if you wanted to bring it hunting...it would be a negative. That being said we can just cover it.Other uses besides hikes and picnics:HuntingHospital (so you don’t have to eat expensive and gross hospital food-odd i know but applicable to our situation)Carry-on (especially for those who have to travel with medically necessary items that need to be kept cool)

Keeps your drinks cold- and your friends drinks too
This backpack cooler is great! And for the price, stellar! We bought this for a trip which included hiking and white water rafting. This cooler is not only spacious, IT KEEPS YOUR ITEMS COLD all day and then some (it's not a yeti, but for $$ it works). You don't need to fill the entire cooler with ice and it will keep your items cold. Put your drinks in first, add some ice and put any dry items on top. I would suggest using a ziplock for dry items (sandwiches). Your biggest problem is going to be when your friends all ask you to carry their stuff, including wine bottles. The incorporated tool is great for a bottle opener (who brings glass bottles when rafting?). You will need to pack your own wine bottle opener (check your bottles, they may be screw tops instead). This cooler contains some dry pockets too. They are not that spacious, but you're buying this for a cooler. The mesh pockets truly hold wine bottles, they are very deep. I'm sure they can hold other liter bottles as well. Durability, I think it's built very well. It's got a great top handle/strap you can use to carry or use it to wrap a strap through to secure to your raft. The pack straps don't slip when wearing it. Does it leak? OK, if it ends up on its side any melted ice will leak out through the top zipper. So secure it upright. When off your back (on solid ground), it will stand upright with weight (drinks/ice) in it on the bottom. Don't forget, this is a soft cooler, it's packable.

Bought it 3 years ago; no problems
This insulated cooler backpack holds a lot of cans and ice making it ideal for the beach, boating or anywhere you'd want to bring a cooler. Being a backpack it's more handy than traditional coolers as we can add towels and other items if using ice packs instead of ice on top of beverages and free up our hands if we don't need the full capacity for drinks. It will get a heavy if filled to capacity with beer and ice, but the padded straps make it comfortable to carry and it's better ergonomically than carring a heavy cooler with a handle. Extra pockets on top and sides are convenient for koozies, sun screen etc. I pack it with clothes when traveling by air and always have a convenient cooler while on vacation. Wish I had this 30 years ago. Like any cooler it's best to keep it in the shade whenever possible and it won't keep ice for days like a Yeti or Grizzly, but it will for several hours if starting with refridgerated drinks and preferably hard ice from home freezer. Bagged store ice is often softer and smaller cubes that naturally melt faster. I've never had it leak, because we simply keep it upright and wouldn't expect a zipper to contain water. Common sense, but remember seeing some reviews complaining about zipper leaks before I purchased. Buy now! Wish I had this 30 years ago! I consider it a great tool that makes life better.* I don't do very many reviews and have never recieved any compensation for a review. This company did email asking for a review back in 2019 soon after delivery, but reviews before actual use are typically worthless to readers. Wish we could 1-5 star the reviews like products!
