Provided you install this as instructed, it makes a very tight, waterproof connection. Very pleased with the results.

Excellent splice & shrink tubing.NOTE: This shrink tubing needs a large quantity of heat to shrink. Use a piece of sheet metal on the back side to help contain the heat.

Maybe I'm the only one, but with a propane torch, I still couldn't get the ends to shrink around 12 gauge Romex. In fact I was worried I was going to melt the Romex, as the outer ring actually caught on fire, In the end, I used liquid electrical tape to seal the ends. This product is still a much better solution than attempting wire nut connectors for use underground.

Disregard any reviews that say it's too hard to use the heat shrink tubing. It works properly if you use the correct tool... A HEAT GUN. Do not use a blowtorch or a hair dryer or a bic lighter or a toaster or a microwave or whatever else these jabronis are trying to use. Use a heat gun and it works perfectly. These splices are a godsend. Do not hesitate to buy.

this did the job i needed with out an issue sealed it water tight. if needed would purchase again without question.

Time will tell how waterproof this connector will remain but in the meantime, it's working just great. Solved a problem for us for far less than the $1200 estimate to fix the problem with the lights on the concrete wall.

I ordered 2 of these based on a reviewers comments on another product where he said it was decent, but would ultimately fail. He recommended this product. I bought both and I also recommend this one because it's easier to install and the shrink wrap is really robust. Take care to apply heat evenly to the shrink wrap so it contracts consistently. Don't forget to apply some sealer to the ends before shrinking. Note: I tried a lighter and hair drier for heat. Neither was hot enough. A heat gun would be ideal although I very carefully used a propane torch.

Was easy to use to fix cable on mypost light, and seems to be good and water tight.

Excellent product. I was able to attach my underground wires to the fitting, and held in place. Using a heat gun, the sleeve did shrink in place. Start in the middle and heat towards the ends. No problems! Wait until the wire is cooled before checking for power.Very confident that this product solved my problem. Pleasantly surprised that it was cheaper than from a big box vendor.
