How to Knit: The Definitive Knitting Course Paperback – 1 May 2004

I recently felt the urge to start knitting and brought this book to help me start. It has clear instructions on how to do the basics like casting on and knit and pearl stitches, and how to correct mistakes. There is also a library of other more complex stitches and how to do patterns. I like this book but feel that it jumps from beginners to the very complicated a bit too soon.

I can't say I have made any of the projects in this book. Although I enjoyed this book as it was clearly laid out and the pictures are easy to follow, all the projects are either too large or a bit daunting. Plus Debbie's bliss wools are expensive, so this really is a book for those who have some cash to throw at knitting because you need quite a few skeins for most of the projects.

Although I seem to have bought this book it would have been for my daughter who is still asking me to show her how to knit as she wishes to knit jackets for chickens, as she hasn't completed any knitting I am unable to review.

exactly what I have been looking for as I am complete beginner to the knitting world. I have bought other books but found them complicated but this book is fab, with clear step by step instruction with projects along the way to ensure you have picked up the new methods of knitting you have learnt.

Very useful but photographs could have been better.

Really useful reference book. Learnt how to cable with this.

This is a really comprehensive, well presented, easy to understand manual on knitting. The stitch directory is excellent.
