It works brilliantly!
My pug Oscar is my prized companion. He is a rescue from the streets of Mumbai, India. I move heaven and earth to make his life wonderful. This is the ONLY shampoo that I’ve EVER used that has worked to keep ticks and fleas away. I’ve not had to resort once in the last nearly 3 years to using anything like Bravecto or any of those kinds of meds which to me is a massive victory! We go to the park every day where I live and I no longer have to sweat and fret about ticks and fleas!I love the smell which helps eliminate that any doggy odors. It’s thick and easy to apply. I’ve also noticed that I don’t have to bathe him as often which is a plus for a pug. One bottle goes a loooong way in this household. The white of his coat comes out snowy white, and, as you can see from his photo, he has a nice thick coat for a pug. I also like the fact that I don’t feel like I’m exposing Oscar to loads of chemicals so it seems safer for him. I also like that the bottle doesn’t leak.

Great at killing ticks
I use Vet’s Best products as the brand was recommended by my Veterinarian. The spray worked fabulously last summer & I began using this shampoo. It is Spring now & the ticks are in the grass. They love my beagle who 100% black so ticks can’t be seen. Enter Vet’s Best. With this shampoo initially it didn’t seem to work great. I then actually read the directions on the bottle & realized why. Once the shampoo is on & lathered on my dog I continue to massage her with a soft bristled dog brush for as long as she can tolerate. I can usually get a good 5-7 minutes in before she lets me know she’s had enough “bath time” :) The directions state “let stand or continue to massage for 5-10 minutes.” Using this shampoo as directed I’ve actually seen dead ticks in the tub after her washing. Her coat is very shiny & soft after her bath. I feel the price is great for a 12 ounce bottle vs. what my Veterinarian charges. The scent is exact to anything related to the brand Vick’s. I relate the smell to their chest rub. My dog tolerates it & well I’m ordained to the smell of Vick’s so it doesn’t bother me. I do recommend this shampoo & I feel it will work for you if you’re able to keep it on your dog as long as possible, up to 10 minutes.

great shampoo but may not kill fleas
Recently we went through the nightmare of my Pomsky getting fleas. He was sick and on antibiotics at the time, which somehow resulted in his getting fleas despite being on a monthly flea/tick med. This shampoo was one of many solutions we tried to get rid of the fleas. My dog's coat is extremely thick, dense and long, so it's very difficult to get close to his skin. I did see dead fleas in the bath water after using it, and I'd say it's just about as effective as Dawn dish soap at killing fleas. Which is to say, it will kill whatever fleas it comes into contact with if used correctly, but it does not necessarily guarantee your flea problem will be over and done with. In the case of my dog, it offered a little temporary relief but didn't solve the problem or repel new fleas. So, maybe not the best flea shampoo, but it is a really nice dog shampoo. It's been quite awhile and I can still smell it. Other dog shampoos have made my dog smell really bad in the aftermath; this stuff smells amazing and does do a really good job of cleaning the dog's fur. I would just strongly advise you do a test first to make sure your dog isn't freaked out by such a strong herbal smell.

THis shampoo really works.
The minute you start to use this you can see those nasty fleas come to the surface and are dead. I had tried some shampoos from the vets and they did not work nearly so well and were 2 times the money. You have to use it often because of the fleas eggs and their reproducing so fast. I am now into my thrid week of these fleas. You have to be cleaning your carpets everyday and emty your vacuum cleaner each time they live in there too. Shampoo your dog at minimum evey 2 days. Never had these before and with any luck never again. You can see when your dog has no more . but they live in your home for months with out eating. so be vigil.

Buy it!
Smells so good and it's the first shampoo that doesn't cause itchiness for my golden retriever. Leaves his fur so soft and beautiful.

Works - kinda
I can't say that this doesn't work but wouldn't say it works amazingly. Definitely need to use regularly. My dog had a stint with fleas for about a year and I really wanted to use natural alternatives to flea protection and this was one of the things I used.It was always safe, never irritated his skin, left fur feeling clean and shiny. Wasn't my favorite scent but overall wasn't bad. When bathing would see fleas fall off in the tub so definitely worked to remove fleas. However often the fleas were still alive even when they were in the shampoo. This gave me doubts that it was effective to clear out eggs and even fleas on his body. I used this for over a year with varying levels of success.I ended up going with an oral treatment and his fleas were gone within an hour. Would use in a pinch but it is definitely not an option for actually controlling fleas for the long term.

Great
Absolutely loved the smell and the result after the second bath, concerning killing the little flea on my dog.

Works immediately!
My 9-yr old all-black American Pit Bull has never had fleas in the 6 years I’ve owned her. So when I saw one on her a few days ago, I had a minor panic attack (because, Ew) and jumped on Amazon for a same-day delivery solution. So glad I found this! Gave her a bath, and as others stated, saw 2 fleas “jump ship” in the tub. I made sure to rub it in well and let sit for 5 minutes. Her coat is nice and shiny, and I noticed her itching was better right after. I plan to use again next week for good measure, but so far no more signs of fleas (of course I’ve been washing and vacuuming everything in the house repeatedly as well)!
