Calendula extract promotes healing and helps to renew skin cells. Melkfett, orginally developed as as udder-balm, has long been used in rural communities to calm skin, help prevent soreness and to form a protective barrier. The salve is suitable for use on minor wounds and for skin irritations such as those due to insect bites, stings or over-exposure to the elements. Helps to soothe & heal chapped lips, face, hands. Calendula Officinalis has been used medicinally for centuries. Modern research suggests that Calendula extracts have anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. In herbalism, Calendula is used topically for promoting wound healing, acne, reducing inflammation and soothing irritated tissue. Calendula contains naturally-occurring chemicals, which have been shown to speed up wound-healing in several ways, including increasing the blood flow to the affected area and promoting the production of collagen proteins. Calendula possesses antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects due to its flavonoid content. Milk Oils are a traditional remedy for soothing sore or irritated skin.
