Powerful and versatile
Versatile and capable multi-system emulator. Comes prepackaged with with a great collection of of retro titles. It is possible to add others, using user-supplied ROM file content. It is also possible to opt for different emulators like Batocera for the unit. I find even PSX titles run well on the emulator. I have changed out the game microSD card for a 1tb version, so this means a very large and well-scraped metadata presentation library can be enjoyed on this small handheld gaming platform, reminiscent of a Game Boy but capable of emulating far more advanced and graphically rich game content. The SD adapter shown in the screenshot is not used to install a microSD into the system. It is only put there to indicate brand selection and show relative size of a memory card versus the console.

Stopped working
It was great while it lasted (less than 2 weeks. I went to turn it on and nothing happened. Tried to plug the charger and nothing.

It works but it can be frustrating
This is a powerful device with a lot of popular games on it. I played Tomb Raider and Sonic the Hedgehog and they both worked great. The sceen is tiny but clear, and the games are fun to play.Be sure to find a chip in the bottom of the box and insert it in the slot to get the games.I am taking one star off because the user interface is terrible. There are too many buttons and they are in odd places and some of them are redundant and some of them don't work the way you'd expect. I kept getting stuck in incomprehensible menus with no clear way out. The A button launches a game but I had to press every other button several times to figure that out. For some reason I thought "select" is what you should press to choose a menu option, but I was wrong about that. The manual is printed in tiny print on one side of a sheet of paper and it contains technical jargon that is minimally useful. This product would greatly benefit from a well-written user manual.Once you figure out how to launch a game, and what keys to press, the device works very well. The graphics and music are quite nice and the buttons are responsive. The games are great, like they always were.

How Nostalgic!
I’ve been really liking this retro gaming console - it’s the perfect mix of nostalgia and modern tech. The design is sleek and feels great in hand and the screen is bright and crisp, with fantastic colors that make retro games look better than I remembered! I have a handheld GB color with no backlighting and it's incredible how much a difference this screen is on this console. One of my favorite things is this has games from retro systems like SNES and PS1 - I've been dreaming about playing Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider and now I finally can! Loading up the games was easy but it does take a little bit of time to learn the navigation (saving games, exiting, etc.). If you’re a fan of classic games and want a handheld console that’s reliable and fun, this is a great choice.

Sleep mode still kills battery
The machine works very well once I installed Retroarch, but sleep mode still kills the battery. The LED even stays on.

This is a must have for any gamer that grew up in the 90’s
I absolutely love this thing and am very impressed with it! I went to the company’s website anbernic.com, downloaded to OS software, and flashed that to a better quality 16gb Micro SD card and then added more games on the included 64gb card, so I would recommend doing that and definitely watch some YouTube videos on how to set it up for the best experience. It’s crazy playing Final Fantasy 7 from PS1, all the OG Sega and Super Nintendo games on this thing. The screen is stunning too. I’d say the worst part about this is that it be a bit uncomfortable for long playing sessions as it’s pretty small but man it’s great though! This device has really got me into Roms now and downloading them essentially reliving my childhood, but YouTube how to flash the OS on a new SD card because the ones that come with it aren’t necessarily the most reliable, so for the best long term results gets a few Scan Disc Micro SD cards.
