A Year at a Farm (Time Goes By)

You can "read" this book to a child over and over again. The drawings are so detailed that each time you read it, you see new things to point out and discuss. My 3 year old grandson and I have read this at least a dozen times and each time we see different things. He's learned so much farm vocabulary from this book. And best of all, other family members can "read" this same book to him in each of the other two languages he speaks, teaching more farm vocabulary each time. This is part of a series, but I think this farm one is the best of them all.

This is an excellent, excellent book. The scenes are really fun and entertaining, but it also has an educational component. My kids and I poured over the pictures together and also had some talks about how a farm runs and all the jobs that need to be done. We plan to get a bunch more of the Year At ____ books and recommend them to others

This is a wonderful series. We have two of them and want more. The kids really liked learning what life is like in the places these books take you. A bonus is that there's a search for on each page, so the kids had a blast looking for the hidden items. Very educational and fun. Kudos to the author! :)

My three year old enjoys books, but primarily wants to read together. These books (along with the OWLY illustrated stories) are the only ones he will dig into on his own. How fun! He narrated the book to me on a 30 minute car ride the other day, and then fell asleep with the book on his chest. That's a first. He's a big rooster fan, and we are growing are own veggies, so I figured the story of a farm would be fun... However, I'm giving it 4 stars for format. Illustrations are detailed, captivating, and bright. Our stories and interpretations keeps evolving as we explore the pictures together. A lot of parties happen on this farm! My son likes seeing what the tractors are up to in each picture. Only complaint is that I haven't found a rooster anywhere yet... lots of chicken and eggs, so one would thing he'd be hiding somewhere.

My almost 5 yr old loves farming stuff and this was so much fun to read. Plus I think it's the type of book you can look at over and over and notice new things each time. Even my 3 yr old daughter enjoyed it.

My grandson loved "A Year at a Construction Site" so I ordered the farm version. I was not at all as happy with it. I did not like the fact that the airplane sprays herbicide on the farm crops and other scenes were not very typical of a working farm. I think the author was trying to add humor to the story but it was very confusing for my grandson who is 2 1/2 years Not near as entertaining as the construction version.

This is my 3yr olds favorite 'search and find' book. We bought him some Waldo books but they turned out to be a bit to hard for his age right now. However my son can do this one by himself now.

well made book for kiddos. the artwork is very good and you will spend time looking at everything in the pictures. our kiddo loves it.

My farming-mad son has read this book so much it has fallen apart, so I can safely say it's rather good. Things to spot on each page as the book progresses through the year. Lovely.We also have the Construction Site book which is in a similar state!

Wir haben bereits das Buch "A Year at a Construction Site" und mein Sohn liebt beide Bücher sehr. Sie sind anspruchsvoll (Construction Site ein wenig mehr als das andere) und mit vielen, mit zahlreichen zum Teil witzigen Details liebevoll ausgestalteten Bildern versehen. Selbst nach mehrmaligem Lesen entdeckt man immer wieder neue Szenen, die uns als Betrachter vorher noch gar nicht aufgefallen sind. Gleichzeitig sind die Texte lehrreich und unterhaltsam.

Habe dieses Buch gekauft, da ich mit unseren Kindern seit 2 Jahren beinahe nur mehr Englisch spreche - es handelt sich um ein wirklich schön gemachtes Kinderbuch und leicht verständlichem Englisch - abgesehen vom Englisch lässt sich so viel auf jeder Seite in jedem Bild entdecken, sodass man immer wieder zu dem Buch greift!Die ganze Buchserie ist sehr empfehlenswert!
