DJANGO Crossbar Lock DLC KUNX707T3

I have another Kunwu knife (Padre) that is incredible so naturally I wanted to blow more money on knives I don’t need. The Django is also an incredible knife. It’s a bit smaller than the Padre and definitely less chunky. The Django is what I would describe as a medium to full size EDC knife. Good ergonomics, blade geometry is wonderful, the DLC coating is great looking if not a fingerprint magnet, scales are grippy without being offensive. The carry profile is very similar to a Kershaw Iridium if that’s at all helpful, just a bit thicker. If you’re shopping in this price range, I don’t think you can do better.My only nitpicks of the knife are the clip is a bit tight and flicking it open with your thumb will take some practice as the cutout isn’t quite generous enough to get a thumb in there. Reverse flick is mindlessly easy though.

The first thing that grabs your attention in the diamond milling on the titanium scales. They provide great grip without being so aggressive that they would tear up your pocket. The blade is what really sold me though. Elmax is a fine blade steel in its own right but with the DLC coating it's an absolute stunner. The DLC(diamond like carbon) is a super hard layer that provides extreme corrosion resistance and protection from scratches. The blade came extremely sharp. The action is very smooth with a positive lockup. It's also nice that it comes with an extra set of omega springs and a wire pocket clip. Overall, a very nicely crafted folder at a reasonable price given the higher end features. Well done Kunwu. Buy it now before the orange dufus makes purchasing kick ass high end knives from China unaffordable.
