Great Knives!
I have the full set and I just love these knives. Very comfortable to hold and use. I highly recommend the Ergo brand.

The design makes the knife clumsy to use.
I don't think the ergonomic design is right for this knife. A straight handle might be better. You can't rock the knife very much without rocking on the tip. You get the best results if you cut from the blade end near the handle, which is a pretty strange technique. I've observed chefs on TV use the nakiri knife, but I haven't been able to copy it. I like the weight of this knife, and it's sharpness and thinness. It sliced onions and cucumbers very thin and uniform. The steel scratches easily--even a cotton dishtowel marred and dulled the blade. I've only had the knife for a couple of months, and it gets light use. It is a factory second, but I have no idea why. It looked perfect when it arrived.

The holding angle is perfect. My wife is very short and I have a damaged / weak right wrist. This knife has been a pleasant relief for the both of us. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first because of the low price. It holds its sharp edge quite well, and has been great for most of our daily kitchen needs.I would buy it, again.

Like most others
Like most others, I can't see any reason for this being a "factory second". Beautiful finish. Takes a bit to get used to the "crooked" handle - my 16 year old said I should send it back because it got bent. The factory edge is a good start. With just a minimum of work I got it to my edge preference.Works fine out of the box, I just like a sharper but less durable edge.

good value
One of my fave knives. I could not see the defect that made this a 'second'. Edge is strong. I prefer a more steeply angled edge, and plan to re-angle the edge to a steeper angle when I have time.
