I got this as an upgrade to my refurbished Netgear RS7000 router which seemed to have trouble supporting my security camera. I was not able to get the camera to properly connect to the internet after a reset. Installation was easy once I found the button to add a new system to the Nighthawk app as the app seemed to try connecting to my old device. The WiFi signal strength was tested to very fast as I also upgraded my internet plan. Sometimes when flipping to pages on my phone the page briefly says offline but reconnects back quickly. Streaming movies was great with the 5G GHz WiFi while 2.4 GHz handles my other devices. So as long as there is connectivity I am happy.

Personally, I have always preferred having my own router for my internet services and brands Netgear and Nighthawk for me are the absolute best. This one was bought for my dad since he had to replace his old router.This one is an upgraded version of the one he had before and he absolutely loves it. It delivers fast speed WiFi, connection is strong and dependable and it’s not just a router but one that extends the signal further out so whether he is in his apartment upstairs or his comadre in hers downstairs they all get a reliable strong wifi connectionFor the price it’s great because this something that will last for years if taken care of properly.No more wasting money on “renting” the equipment or devices. Just buy your own router making sure it’s compatible with your service provider.

After running an older netgear system for the last 10 years I decided to upgrade for better speeds. I chose the Nighthawk AX5400. My download speed went from 40 meg download to nearly 300, My phone download went from 70 meg download to almost 500. I also had difficulty having service outside my home but now I have service over my entire 2.5 acres. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to improve their internet service. They also have great tech support as I used them to assist in my installation. Netgear #1

I'm very impressed with this router. My old modem is a router/modem combination and you could really feel the slowness. I was getting emailed weekly by my internet providing telling me I could experience better service if I just got an upgrade. While my plan is to also get an entirely new modem which will be from Netgear, this wifi router has been a life saver. I haven't once lost Internet since using it. Our home devices have had 0 issues with disconnects or slowed down speeds due to too many devices being connected at once. If you work from home like me, get this device!I only have one complaint which isn't about the product itself. You are forced to download an app and make a whole user/account set up. I do wish I could just plug it in and be done with it after the initial set up. I definitely miss the times where we didn't need apps or to create entire accounts when buying new electronics. The product is still amazing overall.

Honestly I didn’t do a lot of research before buying a router as I was in the middle of moving and just wanted something that would work for me. I was slightly hesitant about this router because it’s expensive but I use wifi a lot and it’s essential for me not to have any lagging or trouble so I went for it and I don’t regret it. Don’t forget that it will act like it’s working but not work until you register/set it up but I’ve had no problems at all despite being in a busy area.

The only negative that I have about this unit is the setup. I found the setup to be difficult. I eventually contacted support for assistance and with their help got the router up and going. I would suggest that one contact support from the beginning and save a lot of time and frustration with account setup and router reset. After that, the router provided good overall coverage. Good value for the $$$ price.

We recently downgraded our cable to just internet. I purchased this router to get rid of the rental router I had with cable. The installation was pretty easy to do. I like the external antenna’s because of the longer/wider range. I no longer have to use the 2 WiFi extenders I had to get WiFi out on my back deck and one of the wireless cameras. Also, the added bonus was no $18 monthly rental fee from my internet provider.The only downside I have, nothing to do with the router, is any device you have on your wireless network has to be changed. I had around 13 devices. Phones, cameras, laptops ,thermostats, printer, appliances etc. it took longer to fix them than it took to setup the router

So far it’s working wonders. I have not had any drops in my internet since getting this. The signal is really strong too! Definitely worth every penny. My portal for the ps5 used to degrade in graphics then drop completely. Not anymore! It’s smooth and translates my inputs with barely any delay! Much better than that spectrum WiFi router I had that was costing me 10$ a month to rent.
