These are incredible bulbs, with one small caveat!
I dare say that these bulbs are probably the best deal on all of Amazon!I like them a lot. The colors are rich and vibrant, giving off great vibes in any room of choice. You can basically set it to be almost any color you want, and all shades in between thereafter. The remote is convenient and definitely a selling point. Adding to this, you can operate multiple bulbs with a single remote, making uniform colors effortless.I bought three of these bulbs. One I put in a corner torch lamp and the other two I put in wall lamps I got from Ikea.Instant color magic! I can relax at night to whichever hue my mood desires. They're very calming!Sometimes I like to set them to match a theme of music I'm listening to. Purple/Electric blue for 80's Retrowave and Synthwave, UK Hardcore, Dubstep, or House. Red for Death Metal or dark ambient. Maybe yellow, light orange, or lime green for orchestral or soundtracks. It's a lot of fun, and really gives the music a powerful, immersive, visual depth, believe it or not.I would compare the type of color light you get exactly to that of standing under a HUGE neon sign. It gives off a glow that's undeniably electronic in tone, but still sharp and pronounced. It feels like my bedroom is situated in a big futuristic city skyscraper, surrounded by a glistening and gleaming night life all around. One warning, however: One bulb by itself is NOT suitable for primary white lighting. The full brightness white is the only area where these leave something to be desired. It's hard on the eyes, ugly, and has a blue tint to it. It's headache-inducing without providing enough light to actually be adequate. Maybe a single bulb would work for a desk lamp, but not for a whole room. If you want to light an entire room, you'll need more than one. If I turn all 3 on I have, it's fine. Nice and bright, as they balance each other out to make for a more functional and pleasing white light. One by itself doesn't cut it. It just manages to be irritating. With that in mind, I would absolutely recommend these bulbs. It's worth the little inconvenience for the endless colors alone, I promise. I am overall completely satisfied with them. And for the price, there's not much to lose if you take a chance to try them out. I'm glad I did!

This bulb can be operated through a partially opaque lighting fixture
This was my dilemma. I have a heavy but beautiful polar bear and glacier-themed lighting fixture that is made of white quartz, but I wanted to have the opportunity to have some color in it to represent a glacial landscape at sunrise or sunset. Unfortunately, the fixture doesn't allow an easy bulb change. You have to flip over the heavy lamp, and then remove three screws that are tightly embedded in wooden plugs that were placed in drilled holes in the quartz. Then you remove the heavy base to the lamp, flip that over, screw the new bulb in, and then figure out how the holes and groove for the electrical cord line up, put the screws back in, and flip the heavy thing without scratching the table it's on. This is at least a half hour job each time the bulb is changed.I thought that maybe a bulb that cycled through several colors would save me from having to open the lamp each time I wanted some color, and so I bought a "party bulb" from the hardware store, but I found out that if you turn that bulb off at all, the thing would go into default mode which is a sudden jump from color to color as it cycled through the basic rainbow colors. You'd literally have to open the light each time you turned it off, leaving the bulb on through the process, and press a button on the side of the party bulb to get a softer jump from color to color, or a single color. And so I checked Amazon and thought the reviews for this bulb were exactly what I needed, but... could the remote operate through the white quartz, which was only partially clear in some layers? When I received this well-packed bulb, I put it in the quartz lamp, hoping for the best... and it worked! Better yet, it worked every single time. This bulb also allows me to "blend" my own colors with the remote, or have the light go to basic white, not a lot of lumens, but enough to light up a room to see everything like a living room lamp. The ability to cycle through colors is there, as is dimming the light. And the best part -- when you turn it off, it holds its settings. It won't change unless you change it with the remote. And so if you have a color theme and rarely want the color to vary, you have the ability to get the color just perfect, and then turn it off and on as you please without losing the setting. This bulb is better than anything I expected to find on Amazon or anywhere. It's great!

Great bulbs
These bulbs are great! I've got them in multiple lamps in my apartment. The controls on the remote are easy and the colors look great. The adjustable brightness functions are good, though it should be noted that the regular non-color light mode has less adjustment than the colored modes. The regular white is a soft, warm light instead of a hard bright white. One remote will control multiple bulbs, so mind the angle of the remote relative to your lights if you only want to control one and have multiple in the same room.
