As easy as possible to install - still a lot of work
This is perfect for storing just a couple more totes. I have a high garage ceiling. This set is 6 individual rails to hold 5 totes. It's not that it was a surprise how much work it took to drill holes in the joists, then sink the bolts. I put totes of my kids' childhood stuff up there that I'll not need to access until they're old and have their own places and kids and are curious about these things. These are great for long-term storage. They're certainly durable enough. The totes I have are the same as the ones pictured that the big hardware stores are selling these days and the rails are sturdy enough to outlast these totes. I'm sure these will be stuck firmly in the ceiling until some day in the distant future when they tear down my house for a highrise.

Great storage solution
I got these on a whim, and once they were installed a problem I didn't know I had was solved. I have shelf space in my storage room shelves again! I got the kit to hang 5 bins, and am going to order more to hang all of our storage bins. These are so much easier to deal with than the shelves I was keeping bins on. Install was straightforward, but requires some skill and a few tools to make it go smoothly. I used a pencil, stud-finder, measuring tape, cordless drill, and cordless impact driver with a socket. I spent a little over an hour on the install and it turned out perfect. Make sure your ceiling joists or trusses and 16" centers first of all. Find your first two joists at your starting point, and mark them out to about 8'. If you work parallel across the two joists, this kit accommodates any with of bin. I used the bracket as my template, and marked both joists to drill my pilot holes square to the run. Used my impact driver to mount the bracket with the included bolts, and then used the lid of the bin to mark where my second bracket would be mounted. Repeat, and before you know it you have a bunch of free space in the garage! We have lots of these bins in our house, and this system impressed me so well, that I'm going to buy them to fill up all my empty ceiling space with storage bins, Great product!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Better Than Other Ceiling Storage Mounts
I have 2 different types of ceiling mounts in my garage. These ones and the traditional ceiling storage racks. Here are my reasons why I prefer these over my other one.PROS- These have a lower profile. Since it sits right at the ceiling, it's more discrete than the ceiling racks where it is definitely obvious.- Technically you are able to fit more with this than the ceiling racks. My ceiling racks only fits 3 Costco Black and Yellow bins compare to these where you can fit 5.- When installed properly, it's very easy to slide in and out and there's no wobble.CONS- Since these are slide in for storage bins. You are not able to put anything else like oddly shaped and skinny items like you can with a traditional ceiling storage rack.- My Newly Built home has 20" on center studs. Finding the right stud spacing to mount these are a lot more limited compared to my traditional ceiling storage rack where I had more versatility when it came to mounting.- I have noticed since these are mounted higher, it is harder to install or remove heavier bins. The traditional rack is easier and better to move bins around compared to these in my opinion. With all that said and my listed CONS, I still give this 5 stars as I prefer looks and the amount it can hold vs anything else. I highly recommend and suggest this over the traditional ceiling racks.

A great, adaptable, and sturdy storage option
I built some hanging storage a few years ago to hang the Christmas decor tubs. But the thing about storage tubs is that they multiply, at least in my family. So, as the storage tubs have grown in numbers, my space has shrunk. I wanted something I'd trust a bit more that was configurable and sturdy. This was perfect. I was able to get 5 tubs above another spot in our garage. I measured thrice and drilled twice, so that was ok. Get a good stud finder and measure your tubs before you drill, and you'll be thankful for these rails. They are very sturdy and strong. The tubs I have are from Big Lots, so the lip and the lid aren't the thickest so I didn't need the spacers provided, but was nice that it was there.

Poor Instructions
The instructions say to pre-drill for the lag bolts with an 8mm drill, they are 8mm lag bolts. Do not follow instructions, pre drill with a 5mm drill bit.

Works well
I ordered the storage rail system so I could maximize my garage space. After installing the rails on the ceiling I was able to put my lighter containers up along the garage ceiling.

Fantastic speedy home improvement
First let's always practice safety. You're working overhead so safety glasses are a must make sure that whatever platform you're standing on ladder bench whatever is solid and safe. And since you're working overhead always have somebody with you much easier to do this job with two people and what if something goes wrong you need somebody there to help you but let's hope that that doesn't come to be the case. Now that we've got safety out of the way. He's overhead storage bin rails are beyond easy to install. Not only do they come preassembled, but they come with all the necessary hardware to mount them into wooden studs right in the box. the one key is you have to make sure that you are hitting the center of your studs. Always measure twice and confirm your work before you do it other than that these things are that simple. They make a drastic difference in your available space, and they look attractive too. You really can't go wrong with these things. They're just really that easy to put up. It also never hurts to do a small, predrilled pilot hole for the lag bolts to go into less chance of splitting wood and a better bite for the lag to go into cleanly.Don't be fooled by the rivets that hold the two pieces of the bracket together. This definitely will not weaken the assembly. Because you will far outrun the capacity of the storage bins along before you outrun the capacity of the metal in the brackets.Given the simplicity of putting these brackets in and the drastic difference that they make in your home I would highly recommend these to anybody looking to make that difference in their own home. This is a great product.
