I took a venomous snake handling course and these were the gaiters they had all of the students wear while we worked with the snakes. Once I completed the course, I grabbed a pair for myself to wear while doing snake relocations. I've brought and worn these on lots of calls, several of them involving slogging through mud or briars to find and move a venomous snake from someone's property. They've held up super well. They're pretty easy to adjust and pretty comfortable.

I bought these to scout and early season archery because there's still Copperhead and Timber Rattler Snakes about when I'm moving through my hunting areas. I'm not always able to pay attention to all of my steps as I'm locating food and water sources as well as existing game in these areas. Plus a lot of the land I hunt is over grown and you can't see your feet anyway. These definitely give me security to know I'm covered in case of an unseen strike. Built well and comfortable. Definitely do the job of protecting me in my travels. Recommended for sure.

These things are awesome. My pictures are the first time I put them on with my hunting pants and boots. These snake gaitors feel great, I feel they will give good protection and they feel quality made! So far I am very happy with my purchase and on the plus side it come in 4 days faster than it originally said.Thank you Amazon!

Update: I have been wearing these (see snake photo ) but they tend to slide and turn. I have to tighten them more frequently than I would prefer (thus the downgrade from 5 stars to 4 stars) . Walked 1’ from rattlesnake, as it was totally camouflaged. Glad I have these just wish they would not loosen up, slide or turn . I intentionally did not buy the one with the strap that goes under my boot because I thought it would (and it would!!) get really dirty and gross. I would still buy these . I might have to come up with a fix to prohibit the side, turn and loosening as it gets a bit annoying .However, when doing chores, I don’t leave the house without them on.Hope I don’t have to try them out to see if they actually work or not - but when you KNOW the area has rattlesnakes ‘ - a ounce of precaution is worth a pound of cure ‘ certainly applies.Bought this because I ride my mountain bike on a tight single track trail that is known for having rattlesnakes. Figured it would be cheaper than a trip to the hospital. Hope I never need to use them.

Good product for a great price. The one problem is that they dont have a strap that goes under your boot to keep them from turning or sliding up and down. I bought, for $2.49, a pack of 4 short bungee straps, and hook one side on the the plastic buckle to the end of the strap on the opposite side by pulling the strap under my foot. Problem solved. I use these for protection while fishing and hunting in Arkansas. I walk through some thick brush in heavily snake populated areas by the river, and with the bungee cord added, I trust they will keep me safe.

No first hand experience being struck thank God. Probably adequate. Hope never to find out. In the past all my encounters have been peaceful, I hear them and let them alone and they let me alone.Mutual respect has always worked in the past but mistakes do happen.

They work great when feeding my chickens and the ROOSTER can not spur my legs. I have a lot of scars on my legs before I got these. It frustrates him and he gives up when he knows he can’t hurt me. Great product!!

I have more than my share of venous snakes on my property. These seem to work great while cleaning underbrush and wood piles from my property. I not been bitten, but do feel these while keep in that way.
