Olympus RM CB-2 Remote - Black

This an excellent well made product. I know it costs more than other unbranded copies but the quality is different. Does exactly what it says and is a genuine Olympus product that works.

I’ve used cheap substitutes before and even fabricated my own in the past from stalk-mounted car horn switches and a bit of cable and a plug.But they have all let me down eventually just when I tried to capture an unrepeatable moment.So on this occasion I felt a bit flush and so invested in a genuine original equipment manufacturer version.It’s fine, and the plastics don’t feel like the creaky old plastic egg boxes. But at the price charged I am very unhappy that there is no cable storage solution provided. A small Velcro cable tie would have been good, and an additional semi-rigid storage pouchbjust like I get as standard with even cheap sunglasses would have been ideal. Those two items would have cost Olympus mere pennies to include.So I’ve deducted two stars. Without protection in my camera bag this is going to get knocked about, possibly damage other items, and will likely get damaged itself. A classic case of penny-pinching, or “spoiling the ship for a ha’porth o’ tar”.It's arguably an unnecessary item as well, as many current Olympus models will connect via wi-fi directly to the owner's smartphone, which can then be used as a remote shutter release but also as a viewfinder incorporating touchscreen autofocus.

This remote does the job you expect when the camera is on a tripod.

Genuine Olympus kit which I like. Quality and compatibility with reliability. A bit pricey maybe, but you don’t by Olympus because it’s cheap! Recommended

La OM-D EM-1 Mk II no precisa intervalómetro (la cámara lo incorpora). También, gracias a los modos Live Bulb y Live Time se puede visualizar en pantalla el tiempo de una larga exposición, y así cortarla a voluntad. Con este disparador es más que suficiente. A valorar: (i) la conexión jack, más rápida y simple, (ii) la posición de mantener disparo ("Hold") para el modo Bulb, y (iii) la correa de velcro para sujetar el disparador a la pata del trípode. Simplicidad. Comodidad.

Der Preis war mir vor dem Kauf bewusst, daher ziehe ich dafür keinen Stern hier ab. Nichtsdestotrotz halte ich das Produkt für überteuert...Der Auslöser ist 11cm lang, 2,5cm breit und ca. 1,7cm dick. Das Kabel ist 81cm lang. Der Stecker ist um 90° abgewinkelt. Kurz vor dem Stecker gibt es am Kabel einen "Knubbel" (3,5cm lang). Was auch immer darin verbaut ist, es fühlt sich (im Vergleich zum ganzen Gerät) schwer an.Am Gerät gibt es einen Knopf zum Auslösen (und, falls benötigt, Fokussieren beim Halb-Durchdrücken) und einen Schieber zum Sperren des Auslösers für Langzeitbelichtung. Das Gerät benötigt keine Batterie. Die Bedienung ist einfach und der Kabelauslöser liegt gut in der Hand.Für meine vorherige Kamera hatte ich einen Billig-Nachbau, der in seltenen Fällen nicht ausgelöst hat. Da es mich doch gestört hat, habe ich dieses Mal das Original gekauft. Von meinen 30-40 Testbildern hatte ich beim Original bisher keine Fehlauslösung in Form von keiner Auslösung.In der Verpackung befindet sich neben dem Kabelauslöser noch eine Gebrausanleitung in vielen verschiedenen Sprachen und ein kleines Bändchen (ca. 15cm lang, erinnert an Kabelbinder ;-)) zum Befestigen des Kabels z.B. am Stativ.Mein Fazit: Man kann die Kamera auch z.B. per Smartphone auslösen und sich das Geld für den Kabelauslöser sparen. Für mich in ein Kabelauslöser einfach bequemer...
