Perfect Reliability
I've bought 8 of this disk, or something EXACTLY like it (same model number exactly).I haven't had ANY problems with any of them.I know that a LOT of people on reddit claim that 'All MaxDigitalData' drives are refurbished. I think that is clearly hogwash. I've done a quick test on each of my purchases, and I don't BUY devices that have the word 'Refurbished' or 'Renewed' anywhere.TREMENDOUS performance.

Bought 2 drives, both failures
1 wouldn't even show up and the other wouldn't initialize. Both were clicking a lot and pretty loud when powered on. They were packaged ok so I'm guessing they just shipped non functional. I knew I was buying refurbished but I was hoping B quality, not F. I'd like to try again since it's such a good deal but it's obnoxious to QC the drives for them. Surely bring refurbished means they're tested before they ship out right? Guess not.

This is a Full Size HD. A hair slow though. Unhappy about that.
This hd is more than other reviews. It was like 12.x TB.. so not a lot of overhead. I'm happy about thatBut it's also slow.I'm running core i5 gen 12 processor. 64 gig ram. Pcie gen 4 as main hd. This is running sata 6.But fine transfers are considerably slower than my Seagate and WD drives.I like it has 3yr unconditional warranty but it's not worth using if I gotta find the space again on my other drives to copy off 11 TB of data and then wipe it. This is 3 days of effort.I have to think twice about buying more. Even at this amazing Price. Because the price is really freaking awesome

Works and Acts like your Standard 3.5" SATA HDD
I bought these over a year ago and installed them in my PC rig. I use them in a RAID 0 for roughly 25.4 TB of internal storage. They've performed extremely well, by that I mean as HDD are suppose to perform. As for the claim to noise, I've been around for a while and these sound like any typical HDD since I can remember. Sure these days you can find some really quiet ones but these babies sound like normal HDD to me. The more quiet ones are the odd ones, unnatural. I saw these marketed now as being refurbished, I can not speak to that, when I bought them they were sold as new. For what it's worth, I think they are fine and functional for those looking for a standard 3.5" HDD.

Read all of the reviews and opted to try this drive out.
I have worked in IT since the days you had to solder your own add on cards and have some knowledge of assembly (low level code). Yeah, a looong time. The reviews that mentioned the noise of the drive was somewhat disconcerting, as there were a few of them. (about he only negative with more than one instance) Having used this drive to transfer about 2.2 TB, I found the noise level to be average to slightly below average of traditional spinning drives. I ran some diagnostics on it, and the R/W times were good, probably assisted by the 7200 rpm speed. After 3 hours of testing, the drive external temp was only 15 degrees F higher than ambient. I cannot comment on longevity, as it is new to me. But every indication is a well built drive with normal life expectancy and an incredible full guarantee. On top of this, it was stupid cheap... Unreal value. I am going to buy 2 more based on the diagnostics I ran, temps generated and price per TB. ( I suspect the noise issues were from newer users with SSD and M2 drives experience)

Very loud, but working
I got 4 of these 14tb drives for a NAS. They all work. Packaging was great. My only complaint is that they are very loud. My NAS shares a wall with my bedroom and its loud enough I can hear it even with a tv on in the bedroom. A minor annoyance for the price, but I wouldnt recommend these for a home office where you value quietness.

No good, DoA. Sending back for refund.
I thought I would try this new company because the price looked reasonable and so did the reviews on these. I was going to use this for a backup drive to store files. Nope, I could not get this drive to work. I Inserted it into an enclosure and turned it on, I could hear clicking and then it stops. I checked in disk management in Windows, but it comes up as "drive not initialized" and I go to put in MBR or GPT Partition and it gives a "Hardware fatal error" message and closes. You cannot even get the drive initialized to format the drive. I tried another enclosure and the drive does not even show up at all. Both USB 3.0 enclosures and I tested those with different drives that do work. This drive appears to be faulty and will not boot or show in windows. RMA in progress...

So far so good
Bought 3 drives, and the drives have obviously been wiped and, assumedly, received new firmware to cover up what they started life as. Good news is that badblocks shows no issues after a week long stress test. All smart data came back good after self checking as well. The reports of them being loud are clearly people with no experience around Seagate Exos drives, or anything else close to enterprise (I cite Exos drives as that is what these appear to be when compared to my other drives). Read/write speeds were very good, averaging about 200mb/s writes, down to 125-150 at the low end. Haven't used them otherwise, but they check out so far. I will be using them for a Plex server and will update if anything changes. As of now, I can recommend them.
