How easy it was to assemble. I use it to melt various types of metal. It's cut down length of time it takes to perform a melt in half. It works great. It would be better if it came with a lid that swung open and shut down instead of having to use the tongs to take it off the furnace and set it down somewhere safe.

Very easy to assemble and simple to use if safety precautions are observed. This kiln melted 1 Kg of scrap copper in about 20 minutes from start up to pour. My electric kiln couldn't do it in an hour. Very efficient and I recommend it.

Handle melted off almost immediately. Maybe use sturdier materials around high temperatures? Burner nozzles are cast iron and will burn off over time. Still works, but could be made of better materials. Valves and piping...really everything could be made better, but for a starter furnace it's fine.You WILL need to get a set of tongs and grips for the large crucible. DO NOT try to use the tongs to lift.The igniter was broken to begin with, and the gloves provided are worthless.

Melted copper, tried lifting the smallest supplied crucible with the tongs in the kit and the crucible edge broke off and spilled 8 pounds of copper inside the furnace. Tipped the furnace over to get the bulk of the copper out. This resulted in the rivets on the lid handle melting, as they were made of aluminum. The package should include a lifting tong and better crucibles. The provided gloves had incomplete stitching which allowed some of the metal to burn my hand when the crucible dropped back into the furnace. Thank goodness it did not break at my feet. I am ordering some lifting tongs and pure graphite crucibles. I do not know if the insulation is compromised, but will find out on the next attempt. I purchased this product thinking it was well rated. I am now doubting the Amazon rating system.

Love using it to melt copper and making copper bars. Takes up less room than scrap.

This made a great gift for my son in law. He does so many crafts and this was perfect.

Great product, except: the crucible came chipped and will likely fracture upon firing. Amazon apparently only allows the return of the complete kit and not just a damaged item from the kit. I have already added rigidizer to the furnace, so an exchange doesnt seem possible now. Guess I will be buying a replacment crucible. Also, didnt get the poctured leather gloves. Got some thin, low quality canvas gloves
