This solution was exactly what I needed [I.e., flexibility to expand my laptop's single MDP and HDMI ports into four 4K extended screens (this one extended my MDP into 2-HDMI 4K monitors and I got another one to extend my HDMI into 2-HDMI 4K monitors), price-point, plug-n-play easy setup, observed quality, etc.). If any and/or all of the four aforementioned attributes are important to you, I would highly recommend this solution. Also, Amazon's service level (don't remember if it was same-day or next-day, but it) was exactly what I needed for my situation.

Tried using this adapter for my MacBook Air (mini-display) to external monitor (HDMI) and it does not recognize the device. Monitor works fine, as I use it with my MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, I only recently opened the box, so I am now past my return window. Sad.

This works perfectly! I am able to easily unplug the miniDP port out of my laptop and take it with me, and when I get hope I plug in one thing and my laptop turns into a 3 screen workstation. Perfect for technical work where I need to read a document on one screen, have the stock market on another and typing reports on the third. Highly suggested for anyone with a mini DP port.

It’s light weight. Not bulky. Did not work for my surface pro book

Only reason I knocked a star off, is that every once in a while one of my monitors starts having these red lines on them. I have traced this back to the Mini Displayport to Dual HDMI part, as I can remove the HDMI cable, and when I plug it back in, it gets worse. I remove the power from the part, then plug it back in, all issues are resolved until next time. Easy enough solution, just annoying when it happens.

If all you need to do is get friend a display this is perfect. It works just as good as a more robust dock - just less ports obviously. Just plug in and you’re good to go after toggling your settings

Didnt work with me macbook pro 2012 which says they it should but nope dont waste your money

The only thing I am concern about it is that it is getting pretty hot now days. It has been barely a month of use. I’m not sure how long it will going to last though. But still I believe it is great product if you are not doing any heavy stuff in your device. I do trade so have use of 3 screens 2 of them is used for looking at charts and only when it is getting hot though.
