Wrong piece, missing square.
I love the look of the toy, however the right pieces slipped through quality control. Ended up getting two diamonds, instead of a square piece.UPDATE: Contacted brand directly, was a little difficult to find. Found on their site. They ended up sending new block. However the block was a little misshaped. Regardless my son loves it.

Cute with flaws
I found that 4 of the 5 pieces fit through the square slot if you turn them just right, which defeats the purpose of this toy. The pieces just aren't thick enough to prevent it.Mine came with a bit a damage so I returned it. It was because of the first problem that I opted not to get a replacement. It is really very cute and I'm sad it didn't work out.

Ok, not the best.
This is a beautiful toy, but there are two faults. First, the shapes are too short. Our 1 year old can turn the shapes to slide any of them into the square hole, sort of defeating the purpose of a shape sorter. The string is also too short for my son (12 months old) to use to pull the alligator.

Very nice, could use more shapes
Beautiful design, all wood. I do wish there were more shapes.

Cute
My 10 month old got this for Christmas from her grandparents. She's still too young for it though.

Great for Toddlers!
Not all toys need lights, batteries, or high pitched voices to draw children in. My daughter that is turning two in a couple of months loves the Petit Collage Rock & Roll Alligator Wooden Shape Sorter and Pull Toy. She plays with it almost daily putting in and removing the shapes which she has now learned by name and pulling the Alligator around the house to make its way to her special play areas.I love this works as a shape sorter and a pull toy. It's a two in one toy and the price reflects that. It includes a triangle, square, star, diamond, and heart. Each shape is a different color so you can use this as a learning aid in recognizing not just the shape but a specific color too. There are interesting color sequences and patterning on the alligator. The wheels are generous in size and like no other toy I've seen have a rubber gripping so it clings to surface it's being pulled across instead of sliding everywhere. These sort of wheels are less likely to scratch or damage a floor too. There are no sharp edges on this toy and the wood is all smooth. The string is the only thing I found fault with but was easily remedied. The issue is that over time the end of the string started to fray but I was able to tie a knot in it to prevent that from happening further. The shapes are to be dropped/placed into the top part of the Alligator and they rest inside an open tummy. You can retrieve the shapes by tilting the toy to pour them out or you can put your hand inside the mouth to grab them out. A child size hand or petite adult sized hand should have no issues pulling the shapes out but someone with a large size hand likely would not be able to retrieve them in such a way.Since this toy is made from wood though it's sustainability sourced and the paint is non-toxic and meets all safety standards I would still supervise a younger baby playing with it. I feel this toy is best for children that are beginning not to put everything in their mouth because of teething.Overall, this is a great toy that is fun and can aid in hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and learning. The colors are perfect for most home themes and it works for both boys and girls. This toy is must have for a home and daycare setting. It would make a fantastic choice for a birthday or baby shower gift!

Adorable toy. Great quality. A tad pricey.
This is very cute! I love the colors mixed with the natural wood. The string is long enough for older toddlers to pull without lifting the toy off the ground. I love the little alligator and how the shapes come out of his mouth. Unlike some of the other "shapes through holes" toys, it is very easy to get the shapes out of the container. In fact they often fall out on their own, which could be good or bad depending on what you prefer. I like that I don't have to help my son get the shapes out (heck we had a different toy with a similar idea where you had to turn somethings to unlock a door to get the shapes out and my husband broke it trying to open it! Simpler is usually better, in my view.) My son is 2.5 so on the older end of the age range for this, but he really likes it. Having the container be an alligator makes it extra engaging for older toddlers, I thinkNow as far as this style of toy goes, this is on the higher end of the price scale, but it is all wood and very well made. You can get plastic toys based on the same idea for much cheaper, but I think the quality difference is palpable (coming from someone who has 2 of this style of toy in plastic.)
