painless linux instal, Great Support
In the past, I've had problems getting a USB WiFi device working on Linux. This device came as a welcome change. Not wanting to be forced to buy a new machine to run Windows 11 I switched to Linux Mint. Due to past experience, I searched for a USB Adapter that offered Linux drivers, and this device seemed to fit the bill. I installed the Windows driver to try it out and then installed Linux. Before going through the procedure to download and install the drivers, I plugged the device into a USB socket. Linux found it immediately, and a wireless connection was available. It was easier to install on Linux than it was on Windows.I had a problem with the antenna, which I couldn't get to rotate. The reply from the support desk came the next day and encouraged me to use a little more force, and it worked fine.

Dont bother with the driver if using an up to date Linux OS
Overall very good and a nice sized antenna for range.I brought this to plug into a mini PC in the garden shed so I can have 5G Wifi access remotley. It does work.As for the driver, I installed the driver after the USB network card was already plugged in and working.I wouldnt bother with the driver as it no longer presents the connection speed and does feel more laggy after install. However, I am using Tuxedo OS 3 and this has a quite recent Linux Kernel. So the card is picked up be default and does work out of the box.for other Linux OS, the driver may be needed.

An Ubuntu Banger
When I first used this with an old version of Linux Mint, maybe 21.x, I believe I had to install the driver before it worked, but using it now with Ubuntu 24.X, the OS it picked it up immediately during the install process and has worked flawlessly since.I have typically used old junk PCs that typically don't have wifi cards or old Macs where the wifi card can't be used as my daily driver PCs over the years, so this is in my Linux PC list should I ever need another one.

Excellent Customer Service
While giving an old laptop a new lease of life by replacing its Windows 7 with Linux Mint, I ran into difficulties when trying to set up the wifi. A USB adapter seemed to be the best bet and I settled for this BrosTrend model. I had no luck with simply following the set-up instructions and so contacted the Technical Support team - as also suggested by the instruction leaflet.I cannot speak too highly of the help given by the team. After an initial contact with their admin to confirm purchase details I was handed off to member of the team who could not have done more to be helpful. A series of about half a dozen emails between us saw several attempts at a solution before the one that did the trick was suggested. As a result, this review will be submitted wirelessly by one very happy and well satisfied customer.

Fire whoever wrote your Linux drivers
Having received an installation CD with drivers for the product, I then attempted to install said drivers on my Linux machine. Much to my dismay and disappointment, running the install script popped up a tonne of errors on my terminal. If I had more knowledge in C programming, maybe I could've solved the issue myself but even enlisting the help of someone who know's C didn't help. Eventually, I ended up finding some drivers on a GitHub page, some of which froze my machine, and one that eventually worked...I get that Linux has a small market-share of all PCs in the world but that doesn't mean you should make shiny, excellent, marvellous install wizards for the big two (Mac and Windows) then give Linux half the attention. If you don't have the time/manpower to spare for Linux, then don't support it at all rather than sell us, the buyer, false dreams that your product will work out the box. I hope the makers of this product will see this review and make improvements to the drivers.P.S. Please put the drivers on your website. Upon visiting the site, the drivers for this model WiFi dongle are nowhere to be found
