Connect DVI-D monitors up to 2560x1600
I have a legacy NEC 1440p monitor that only has DVI-D ports that I want to connect my Lenovo laptops at full native resolution. Most adapters out there are passive adapters and can only achieve maximum 1080p FHD resolution, non of them support 1440p or higher. It is not as easy as you might think. After researching for a solution I came across this StarTech Display Port to DVI-D active adapter. This is an active adapter which means it requires extra power from a spare USB port. The USB power is required to convert the display signal from the laptop to use with a dual link DVI-D monitor. The result is support for full resolution up to 2560x1600.The adapter is well made and constructed of metal and feels heavy. One end has a dual link DVI-D port that connects to the monitor (using a dual link DVI-D cable) and 2 cables coming out the other end. One is for USB power and the other has a display port which goes into the PC/laptop.The display port can then be further adapted to use with mini display port or USB-C using appropriate adapters which can then be used on laptops. This is what I am doing with my set-up as most laptops do not have the full size display port. This adapter is only one I have seen that supports resolutions up to 2560x1600 that actually works and is reflected by the high price. This is a quality product and so far has been very reliable and is far cheaper than upgrading the monitor. Finally, I can now connect my laptops at full native resolution of 1440p with my DVI-D monitor. Highly recommended.

Expensive but it works.
Using this with a BenQ XL2411z and an RTX 3080. As you can only get 144hz via DVI on this monitor, I needed to buy an active adapter as the 3080 no longer has DVI.I was concerned I wouldn't be able to make a customer resolution to do the 1502 VT tweak for increased brightness with blur reduction on (@120hz), however that worked fine. The only difference I notice with this adapter is when you wake the PC from sleep or just turn it on, if you look very closely you can see the screen is a bit fuzzy or there's some noise on the picture, but this soon goes away and is less noticeable the darker the screen.Video and games have worked fine, not run into any other issues and I've been using it for a couple months now. It's a bit pricey, but cheaper than replacing it with something similar or an upgrade.

Great quality, occassional static image
This adapter has successfully allowed my 144hz Monitor to be compatible with my non-DVI Graphics Card. Even though it is rated at 120hz, it has no issue with allowing the full 144hz to be used.Occassionally, when I first switch on my PC, I get a very static image, this is easily resolved by unplugging the adapter and plugging it back in. If it wasn't for this, I would give it 5 stars. No issues with colours, blurring, or artifacts. It looks and feels exactly as it did through my old Graphics Card which had a direct DVI connection.

Acer gn246hl 144hz monitor + Dual Link + 2080 Super Display Port
I got this product because my Acer 144hz monitor doesnt have a Display Port on it, the only connections it has are HDMI, DVI, and VGA.Out of all of these connections DVI is the only one that is useful for 144hz, but my graphics card being so new doesnt have a slot for DVI Cables, i did not want to use hdmi because i didnt want to lose out on the 144hz so i bought this Adapter so that i could use the DVI connection on my monitor and also use the display port on my computer. If i didnt buy this product i would have had to either settle for 60hz or buy a newer monitor altogether which would have been a lot more expensive than this product even though this product is quite expensive. This product has worked perfectly for me, i've been able to get the full 144hz out of my monitor, so if youve been having a similar issue where you dont have the right connections between graphics card and monitor this would be a good product to look at unless you want to buy a new monitor.Im purely writing this review to help anyone that has the same issue that i had because i know it stressed me out when i got my new graphics card and realised i couldnt even use 144hz anymore, like whats the point getting a sick graphics card but going back to 60hz lmao
