This kit made a nice Christmas present for my next door neighbours daughter

Once I recieved the box, I was excited, but held on to the excitement for a whole week, before starting on the candle making. The instructions are comprehensive. You knew exactly what each stage entailed. Could have gone on and on making more and more candles, but realised that the wax could only realistically make 10 candles. The candle moulds could be reused time and time again. The dye only needed a tiny pinch to make a lovely coloured candle.Had to stop with the candle making for the time being to conserve my motivations on projects.Can't wait to get started on making more.

I was browsing on Amazon UK for the individual stuff to make candles and I just didn’t know where to start or what to buy. This kit has give me the confidence and the incentive to buy all the essentials I need to make DIY candles. The instructions were easy to read and follow and it has lots of great tips for decoration too.I didn’t like the fragrance which was included so I just used it in one candle to see how it smelled, at first it smelled like a strong aftershave but after lighting the ‘fragranced’ candle, it does smell lovely and floral. I used essential oils for my other candles and played around with the 3 dyes to create different coloured candles.There is a good amount of paraffin wax pellets too and they come packed in a resealable bag. I made about six candles altogether plus two small floating candles.I struggled with the candle wicks at first as I found it so tricky to pull it through the bottom of the moulds, but after one or two go’s I eventually got the hang of it. Then disaster struck. I forgot to place the mould sealant (blu tak) at the bottom of the tray before I poured the liquid wax in and it leaked a little bit, so if you do decide to buy this, make sure you remember to seal it beforehand so you don’t lose any melted wax. If you have any jars, you could use them if you prefer! I thought I would try make jar candles with the leftover wax after making the moulded ones and I actually liked the jars better, I just sealed one end of the candle wick to the inside of the jar using superglue and I then poured the wax into the jars, wrapped the wick around the little ‘lollipop’. I labelled 3 of the jars with chalkboard stickers, cut them to size and wrote on them with chalk pens. I love them! I really like the jar ones better than the moulded ones.I think they look great considering it was my first time making DIY candles and I do love the funky shapes and especially my little jars! After lighting them I just sat back and admired my handy work, I was so proud of myself and my apartment looked like a cathedral. I loved it! Haha. They burned slow, so they lasted quite a while and they smell so beautiful too and look pretty when they are lit.Who I’d recommend it for?Definitely beginners! This is not a kit for someone who already knows the ins and outs of candlemaking but it is a great starter kit for those new to candlemaking and it would make an amazing gift for anybody who loves candles, DIY craft projects and those wishing to learn the basics.

My daughter was very in to candle making at one time but had to stop when my grandson was born. Now that he has started nursery, she will be able to take it up again. This kit contains everything she needs to restart a hobby that gave her so much pleasure.

a great starter kit, excellent for introducing you to candle making. got it yesterday, and today have made a fair few candles using the kit, although have been using essential oils instead of the fragrance supplied in the box. comes with 3 small pots of red, blue and yellow wax dye. a quick trip to wilko to grab a pack of kiddies wax crayons, and i've been making rainbow-striped candles all afternoon to my heart's content. bear in mind that this product is aimed at the complete beginner, and as you get more imaginative and interested in your new hobby, you will be looking at buying more moulds and dyes, as well as re-stocking up on your wick cord and wax beads pretty quickly. still, a great gift idea (got the girlies over tomorrow to have a go, and if they enjoy it- guess what's going in their xmas stocking!!), can't really find a fault in it as a beginner's kit, worth the money, i'd say

Arrived quickly and well packed. This was brought as a present for an 8 year old. She was very pleased and has enjoyed making the candles with her mum.

Really like this, got everything in that you need to start a nice little hobby off, I love the little pots of dye you only need the tiniest bit and they are such nice colours, another kit I got only had crayons in for the dye which does work but it just isn't the same it doesn't mix as well and have to use a hell of a lot... house of crafts if you see this could you possible just start selling those little pots if dye too please lol

i got these as a birthday present and they are awesome. easy to follow instructions and make super amazing candles that smell awesome!! only issue is that candles must be on a stand or in a bowl to catch metled wax when you set them alight but they still looked great and highly recommend buying!!

Il kit è veramente ben fatto, più di quanto mi aspettassi a questo prezzo, c'è veramente tutto. Tutto facile e divertente da utilizzare, l'essenza in dotazione è veramente piacevole e dona alla candela una buona capacità di profumare.Vi divertirete molto a realizzare le vostre candele.

I really like it and made lots of candles already and the instructions are very clear and easy to follow.the only negative point is that I feel like there is not a lot of wick. I already ran out.

El envío tardó un poco pero nada terrible. Será q estoy acostumbrada al envío de 1 día y este tardó bastante más. El kit está muy bien, pero algo q no consideré fue que necesitaría un recipiente para derretir la cera, improvisé con un tarrín de cristal que tenía, pero bueno, lo digo xq igual que lo pasé yo por alto lo pueden pasar mas personas. La escencia aromática la verdad es que no le da mucho olor, cuando enciendes la vela casi no huele. A pesar de eso los moldes y los colores estan muy bien, se puede hacer mucho con muy poquito color. Lo recomiendo para gente que nunca haya hecho velas y sea su primera vez. Si ya las has hecho antes te va a parecer muy básico.
