Ayurveda is one of the oldest natural medicines owned by the human race, a great gift that Indian culture gave to the world. In the West, Ayurveda is usually referred only to medical preparations based on herbs, massages, various purification therapies, relaxation and beauty combined with cosmetics. But the truth is that Ayurved means a lot more than that. In addition to medical science, it embodies elements of philosophy and art, and it offers a complete view of the existence, teaching people how to recognize the true nature of the Human Being and its environment, and to maintain the balance between it and the Universe. According to Ayurveda's philosophy, life is not mere existence, but must be managed according to four main objectives: Dharma (duty), Artha (understanding, well-being, prosperity), Kama (happiness) , Moksha (freedom, illumination). The main purpose of Ayurveda is to maintain health and well-being in order to support the pursuit of these goals. Among the main aims of Ayurveda is the maintenance of health and the treatment of diseases.
