This product was easy to use on Knives and scissors.. We bought it for our home and it works so good Were buying one for the motor home.

14 years ago I was given a knife set as a gift. In that time the knives have only been ‘sharpened’ by ceramic steel as it came with the set. So yes, the knives were really, really, really dull.Since this is my first introduction into kitchen knife sharpening, this item was selected for its price point and handle. The handle worked just fine and it has yet to slip. I probably put more force on it than needed, but would rather err on the side of having two eyes.It took a couple strokes to get a feel for it. If your knives already have and edge, it will not be a problem. With extremely dull knives, it will stutter a bit until the edge develops.On average, each knife took about 15-20 strokes to get a finished product. When sharpening a second time after being used, it took about 3 strokes to get the edge back.It does what it is supposed to do and is easy to store.Make sure to wash knives off after sharpening!

i've had these old dull hair trimmers for years they used to be my favorite but i wasn't sure how to sharpen them to get them to cut the way they used to. i've tried with other things and had no success and im no sharpener professional so i just let them sit around the house for years. my pocket knife was always going dull cuz i use it all the time and it gets sticky n what not. so i originally got this for that, but i saw it had a scissor sharpener so i found my old scissors to trim hair with and lemme tell ya, works great, trims beards, head hair like nobodies business. it feels great having my pair of scissors back in business again. now if you're like me and have a sentimental pair of scissors.... buy this it gets the angle right for you so you dont have to know how to get the angles right.

Gave this a shot and have to say I wasn't disappointed. As someone else said, there is a learning curve but once you figure it out, it really works well.Typically, you should only sharpen a knife in one direction but using the bigger "V", I found running the knife back and forth a few times with good down pressure was what was needed. After that, the "polishing" just fine tuned it.Word of caution, you may not realize how dull your knives are until after you've sharpened and then cut yourself and deep.
