Good pump for hydronic heater
Used this pump on an outdoor wood boiler. Plenty of flow for 120k btu heating coil. Wil keep a spare on hand.

Internet not always right.
I bought the pump to create a recirculating loop on my hot water tank. I installed it with the pump at the bottom of the hot water tank as many diagrams on the internet indicated. Because of several other complications on problems with the system, it seemed like the pump was not working after a short time. And therefore wasn’t sure how much it ever worked. I could not say there was no responsibility on my part and because of the complications it could have run without water in it. This is clearly warned against. The company offered what I thought was a very reasonable price for a replacement pump under the circumstances.I did tear down the old pump to see if I could learn anything and I did learn a lot. The internet diagrams were just wrong for my situation and had allowed a backwash from the bottom of the water heater to plug and ruin the pump!So I feel like lesson learned and good company to work with!

Poor representation of the parts
The pump is smaller than it appears to be, the power cord is apparently a 18-20 gauge wire, which my electrical experience will short out in a short time.Due to the winter weather here, my other pumps have expired, so I don't have time to return them to get a more suitable pump, I will have to redo the electric cords anyway, my system has hard wired pumps not plug in a outlet. Delivery was late for the parts as represented by Amazon. I was expecting a remove the old pump drop in the new. That didn't happen. Had to rework the system to get the new one to fit. You need to put more info in your description of the parts. I've had to return to many different parts before because they didn't fit the situation. It's such a hassle to get the right parts.

Used as dedicated on demand pump with a tankless WH
I have a tankless WH with a 1/2" dedicated recirculation line. I put this pump in on the return (cold) side of the recirc line, before it tees back into the cold water going to the tankless. I installed the pump with a stainless union also bought from amazon as a $7 "add on item" on one side, and a 3/4" NPT to 1/2" pex barb on the other. I also have a sharkbite check valve downstream from the pump, before the recirculation line tees back into the cold water inlet to the WH.I had a bit of trouble getting a water tight seal on the NPT threads of this unit. Other reviewers have mentioned this as well. I'm not sure if there's something off about the machining of the threads, or if it's just because they're stainless. It took me three or four tries to cinch up the pump enough that it wouldn't leak. What finally did it was about 4 turns of teflon plus some rectorseal pipe dope. In any event I finally got it installed properly. I'm running the pump in a horizontal orientation but I was careful to make sure the pump shaft is horizontal too. That is, the round portion is facing sideways, not up or down. The installation manual that comes with the pump indicates that this is the correct way to install it horizontally. In operation the pump is quiet at all three speeds. I can tell its running if my year is within a foot or two, but I can't hear it more than a couple of feet away. One caveat, I have an air eliminator upstream of the pump. The first minute or so of running was a bit noisy until the air eliminator removed the air from the lines at which point the pump quieted down quite a bit. If you think your pump is loud, that suggests to me that you have air in your lines that you need to deal with.I'm still puzzled as to how to calculate GPM in my system. The pump is supposedly rated for 5.5/9.2/13.2 GPM at 20/17/10 ft of max head, but it's unclear to me what this means in a real world situation with different sizes and lengths of pipe. My tankless is rated for 8.4 GPM and says not to use a recirculation pump that pushes more than 7.5 GPM to the water heater. My hot water trunk is 3/4" pex for about 50', which then transitions to about 65' of 1/2" pex for the return. I've tried the bacoeng pump at all three speeds and they all seem to work ok. At the fastest speed, it takes about 30 sec between turning the pump on (and hearing the tankless kick on) before I can feel warmth back at the other end of the recirc loop at the inlet of the pump. On the lowest speed it takes closer to a minute. Since the fastest speed is, well, fastest that's the one I'm using. My water heater doesn't seem to be having a problem keeping up, so I don't see any downside to it, which doesn't mean there isn't one, but if there is I can't see it.As far as controlling the pump goes, I'm using the existing motion sensors in my SmartThings home automation setup and a zwave outlet to turn the pump on and off. If I didn't have the motion sensors, I'd look at bacoeng's configuration of this pump that comes with a flow sensor available elsewhere here on Amazon. All in all I'm happy with the pump, though its only been in service for a week or so. A taco or grundfos pump with similar specs would cost 2-5x as much.

Great pump! Great price!
I installed this to pump on the hot water line coming right out of my water heater. I use it to pump hot water throughout my house, so I can avoid wasting the time and water it takes to get hot water at distant faucets. I plugged the pump into a smart outlet connected to my SmartThings hub. I turn the smart outlet on and off either with a voice command to my Amazon Echo Dot or by pressing the on/off button on another smart outlet in my bathroom, also connected to my SmartThings hub. I created a routine in my hub that calls for the pump smart outlet to turn on and off whenever the bathroom smart outlet is turned on or off. The LED on my bathroom outlet lets me know whether the pump is on or off. So, I am able to run the pump only when I need it. It runs perfect and is very quite. I highly recommend this pump. Great performance, high quality at a low price.

Good water pump!
It has three-speed control . After spending about 10 minutes for installing, it pumps a lot of water, quietly. I had thought it would make some noise but it didn't. One warning on the installation is in orderthough. PURGE all of the trapped air in your water lines. When you think all the air in the lines is gone . . . it probably isn't. Check the pump periodically for a few hours to make sure. Trapped air will burn your new pump out so don't take a chance. I've also run an electrical line to the house and added a switched timer to stop the pump after a preset time. If you just let the pump operate 24/7 continuously you'll find your gas bill taking a huge hit on therms used. I found out that the hard way years ago with the old pump and added a switch in the garage near the pump. With the new switched timer at the house I no longer need to trek back and forth to the garage. Life is good in paradise.
