Amazing For Price Paid
My primary use for this was coin examination. In this it surpassed my expectations. The ability to remove the micro-SD card is great since I can Import images into Adobe PS for further examination and manipulation, (scaling, color etc..) My computer screen is digital, so the quality is also better than the built in screen of the microscope. For coins I turn off the built in overhead light and use just one side light as this brings out depth; shadows are created. By moving the flexible goose-neck lights, it is fairly easy to get the shadows one desires. (Nice feature)The photos in this review were taken with the extension tube in place.<Closeup showing the initials "JFM" were scaled in post processing> I missed this earlier.Scaling is far easier in post processing then having to take off the extension tube to lower the microscope for close examination.Although the specs indicate the camera is 16MP I am confident it is a small sensor; although once brought into a photo program such as Adobe, the results are quite good.I am unable to give it 5 stars overall for the following reasons.1) Unless the microscope is aligned perfectly vertical, it will not give a prefect flat field focus. The adjustment to bring the tube to 90 degrees is a nut that must be loosened; upon re-tightening the nut, the tube assembly shifts. I did manage to get good alignment after several tries.2) The dimming of the upper and lower stage is not precise; but again, a little practice helps.I wish the dimmer control for the goose-neck lights were a simple rotary dial off to the side. While adjusting the lower stage dimmer, your hands get in the way of the light; again, a little trial and error.3) The built in screen is adequate but far from High Definition. My computer screen puts it to shamewhen hooked up directly; but the built in screen is good enough for quick looks or a educator that is showing items to several students.4) The micro SD card has to be pulled out with a small needle nose pliers. Most SD devices are spring loaded and only require a "Push" to pop it out.5) The digital zoom is OK as long as one does not get carried away. Going too far with the zoom will granulate the image. One must experiment and play with it quite a bit to get the most out of it.The menu's are fairly well laid out.Love the remote to take pics or videos.Overall, given the cost, it is amazing.Edit: The micro SD card is spring loaded but it is so small it remains difficult to release without long fingernails or a small screw driver to push it in.

Buyer beware, major software and hardware defects.
Worked for 3 days after receipt. Pretty good optics, but on 4th day focusing was non-functional, display and control software quit. This is second digital microscope I purchased and had to return. The first was a Adonstar and was completely not working when delivered. All of these are OEM made in China, by company "0002." These are all at beta-level testing but $200+. Finally my third scope (Tomlov) is so far working after 10 days. The problem is that the non-Chinese digital microscope manufacturers are all commercial product and priced $600+.

Great Digital Microscope
Fantastic images and easy to use. Also easy to learn how to navigate the menu to take digital photos and videos -- recorded onto the 32 GB micro SD card that comes with the microscope.
