I bought this to put on a trainer, so it has to work with the speed sensor on the back wheel. I have had no sensor issues with it at all.The display is easy to read, with all the relevant data on the screen at all times (generally no need to scroll through modes). The overall build quality of the unit, sensors and mounts is quite good.The set-up instructions are not great. I managed to get it going with a little bit of fiddling, but I can see how others might give up in frustration. The operating instructions are frustratingly terse; they take up about half a page in the rather thick 'getting started' guide.One bizarre setup issue is that when you choose Imperial units, the wheel diameter setting is in inches. Every other bike computer I have owned uses millimeters, and even Meilan's own documentation has a wheel diameter chart in mm only. So, have your phone handy to do the conversion.Operation is a little quirky, especially compared to simpler devices. When you power it on, it responds to the speed and cadence sensors, but unless you explicitly tell it to start recording (middle button, short press), the odometer stays stuck at 0. At the end of your ride, you need to stop recording (middle button, long press) to reset the odometer/min/max/average. If you do a short press instead, you end up in pause mode, which the documentation admits is redundant with the auto-pause feature. And I still have trouble remembering what the other two buttons are for, other than that the right button can get you into a useless 'previous rides' display that is entirely redundant with the phone app.I know that sounds like a lot of complaining, but I actually like the unit and would recommend it, warts and all.

Spend the extra $30 and get the heart monitor, it is a great additionUPDATE: I ended up having a few issues with this unit after 2 months. The support from MEILAN was wonderful. It ended up being an error on my end but they walked me through it and had me back up and running in no time. Great company to do business with.

So, I have diabetes type 2 and need to do good excersize so have a cadence and heart rate monitor is very important and informative . I bought this Meilan comp and for some reason a few days later failed to connect. Contacted Supplier and most helpful. After 2 emails and trying various fixes I was sent another complete brand new unit. Wow. That is amazing service and a credit to supplier and tends to give one faith in humanity again. Definitely worth using this supplier for any of their products.
