Good quality wood chips. Large pieces, not dusty, and most importantly, not scented. My Syrian hamster, Winnie, seems to love digging in it and incorporating it in his bedding. He does not sneeze or have any skin problems with this (nor do I). I love that this does not have a scent to it, which makes it healthy for Winnie and me. I highly recommend this product. I bought these shavings for my corn snake's viv so he could burrow, and it works great. It holds its shape well and is significantly cheaper than reptile brand aspen (they're exactly the same thing). Just break it up in your hands to give it more volume, and layer a few inches so whatever pet you have can tunnel around in it.Side note: like any wood substrate it will trap water and has to be replaced when damp to prevent molding, and does not lend itself well to bioactive enclosures if that's what you're going for.

I've used this product for an entirely different purpose. I needed something other than scrap fabrics to stuff the custom bra/bust tailor's ham I'm making from scratch. It turned out nicely. You get a lot in just one bag (I've purchased two). I'll be making more of these soon!

I have used a number of bedding options for our rabbit, as well as when I was young and in 4-H. Our rabbit's cage is in the living room. Therefore I had to buy a number of different bedding to see what kept it from smelling after 1 day. This is the best I have found after almost 10 different ones. I could go 4 days without cleaning it before I would start to smell it. (Sometimes we get very busy or when rabbit only defecates in one area, do not have to clean as often). very happy with this one. When I make purchases, I add a couple of these each time now as it was a add-on item. well priced as well to boot!

I babysat my nephews' guinea pig for a week while they were on vacation. The cage needed cleaning and they hadn't left any shavings so I bought these. Oliver seemed okay with them and I thought they were probably absorbent enough since I didn't see dark spots.What I liked best - the light color because WOW, do guinea pigs poop a lot. The color contrast made it easy to pick the poops out so Oliver wasn't living in it. Important because he pooped indiscriminately - in his house, by his food bowl, under his water spout - just everywhere. (Turns out, they eat their poop, they don't absorb all the nutrients the first time around. Who knew?)Anyhow, these did the job. I'd buy them again.

My rosy boa (seems) to love it. It looks as if he can burrow nicely, the burrows stay after he gets out so he can crawl back in too(it holds its shape kinda well when in the enclosure). Easy to clean and doesn't smell much.My only issue is the amount of dust. I don't think there is a solution for that the company can implement tho.

The 3 star rating is based ONLY on the size of the bag. The product itself is great and my chickens loved it. But I was expecting a bag big enough to cover the interior of the coop not just the nesting boxes. It was almost not enough for those... However, the chickens were making their happy sounds so I know its good stuff! I just wish it was a bigger bag to cover more area. It's good stuff though!

We got this to use in our composting toilet in our tiny house. Yes, that's an unconventional use for pet bedding, but sometimes you need to absorb your own poop - not just your pet's. The way it works is, you put some shavings down in the bucket, you do your business, then you cover it with some more shavings. In theory, if you do it right (and separate the solids from the liquids), you won't be able to smell it, and it'll eventually turn into compost you can use to grow your food! (that's the simplest, simplest explanation - you should really just look it up on youtube).Anyway - we got this one because it's the cheapest we could find, and we are extremely happy with it! It masks my stench so my wife no longer gags when I do my business in the next room (which is only separated by a thin piece of plywood).

This is working well for my rats. I switched from paper to this, and my rats are breathing more easily and haven't gotten any more respiratory infections. I've bought the smaller container before, and found it quite dusty, I had to put it a mesh laundry bag outside and beat it to get all the dust out. This, larger container had no dust though. The price is affordable as well.

Perfect- not dusty, packaging was in perfect condition, and my baby is once more happy in a clean cage. Very good shavings for use in chinchilla's cage, as they help mask the already minimal odour associated with these critters.

We got this for our hamsters cage and it is absolutely massive. I’ve been using it for months and barely used 1/4 of the bag. It might cost a bit more up front but it lasts for a long time due to how much you get. Otherwise my hamster seems to love the shavings. They look soft and smell fine.
