Does the job perfectly.
I needed to replace my existing Zyxel switch as my home network had outgrown its 5 ports. Given that it had given me years of faultless service running 24/7, I saw no reason to switch brands, so bought this 8-port version. Initial impressions are good. The metal casing gives the switch a nice weight and it can be wall mounted or sat on a surface using the supplied rubber feet. All the ports are rear mounted, with corresponding LEDs on the front indicating status (orange for 100Mbps or green for 1000Mbps connections). It supports traffic priority and has 2 high, 2 medium and 4 general ports. Connected to my TP-LInk Archer router, and with 7 of the 8 ports in use, I'm not seeing any discernable difference in my network speed. On top of that it runs perfectly cool to the touch, so I have high hopes for its long term reliability. If I'm being really critical then I'd say the included power supply looks very cheap and lightweight. That said, the power draw is very low at 5V, 1A, so it's not under much stress. Overall it's an easy way to share your network connection with minimum fuss, and I'm very happy so far.

Built solid, works fine.
This is reassuringly weighty for something in this price range. Built like a tank in fact. Though at one point i did think it had died a death, but it turned out that it was my new router that had stopped working, and this is just fine..I have marked it down one star though because the ethernet inputs and outputs are, for whatever reason, the opposite way up to how they are on most other things. But this doesn't affect performance and i am probably just nitpicking. All in all, i would recommend this..

Seems to work just fine.
Replaced all our ethernet cables with new faster cat 7 and 8 ones mainly for playing Warzone on the PS5 and bought this so we could get the best speeds possible with our set up. It seems to work just fine with noticeably less lag than standard cables or wireless through our standard Sky router as you can connect your gizmos to the high priority ports to give them the best chance of getting most of the available bandwidth. You connect it after the router and before your gadgets. We connected the less important atuff TV, PC Sky Q box etc to the normal ports. Obviously your priorities may be different Streaming services seem fine on lower priority port and we still use our phones and tablets via WI-FI and only use the desktop PC for printing 'cos I can't be arsed to set up the wireless links to our tablets etc. It won't make your internet faster as you will only get what you are paying for on your plan (the internet is full of tutorials on how to improve your internet speeds within the limits of what you are actually paying for) but it will help maximize what you do have access to with less dropouts, lag, buffering etc..

Doesn’t seem to play well with others
I ordered this in July 2018 as I wanted to upgrade from 5 ports to 8 ports. File transfer speeds from my NAS drive to my PC were excellent.I recently changed ISP from Sky to Virgin which required a different router. A couple of weeks ago my broadband connection began to intermittently drop and I contacted Virgin who sent an engineer to investigate. He advised me that Virgin was rolling out new firmware and some LAN switches were not getting on with it. I was advised to disconnect my LAN switches (I also have a Netgear switch) and if it was stable introduce each switch in turn.I connected the Zyxel switch first and within 24 hours the disconnections resumed. I substituted an other (D-Link) switch and then the second switch and my network remained stable.I can only conclude that the Zyxel switch is the problem, either because of a defect or a due to an incompatibility. I suspect the latter but being pragmatic I’m not expecting Virgin to do anything about it.My score reflects that this is a switch than does its job well but perhaps not all for everybody.
