5pc. Robert Sorby #5167 Octagonal Boxwood Chisel Set

I like the set of 5
I have desired a set of these forever and ever and I finally got a set. I like the set of 5, and sharpened them up with all my jigs and water stones and cut some dovetails and stuff and they stayed sharp which is kind of a bummer because I want to sharpen them again and use some more sharpening gear and when I' not working I can sit and admire the beautiful boxwood handles .... sigh.....

They are OK, but not great...I was disappointed
I had high expectations for these chisels since I read lots of good reviews of them made by prominent woodworkers. However, they were not any better than my regular cheap construction grade Stanley chisels.Issues:- The edge does not retain any better than lower cost chisels.- The backs were badly curved, and I mean badly. Some chisels were convex and others were concave. Took many, many, many hours to make them flat.- Brass rings falling off. Not a big deal since I just glued them back on.Positives:- The handles are well made and the shape is comfortable.- Length of the blade is good.I would not recommend them over lower cost options.

Great edge that honed up amazingly sharp
Brass rings were loose and falling off. Great edge that honed up amazingly sharp.
