This is an excellent bench and my customers are thrilled with the fact that they can use their rain head if they want to or they can use their magnetic attachable sprayer which reaches them while they are sitting on the bench and they can sit on the bench and reach the niche that I installed. Schluter makes quality products although I do think that these benches need to be made out of the 2 inch Kerdi board and not the half inch Kerdi board because it makes them flimsy. If they were made out of 2 inch curdy board they would be solid as a rock.

This Schluter product makes installing a bench in the shower super easy and trouble free. It can be cut down if you need it smaller. Just take your time and measure twice before cutting. It is light weight but super strong. It is capable of supporting the most sturdy individual.

If you plan to do a bench in your shower hands down use this. It made adding the bench pretty much effortless. I am confident in the angles of the seat and that it will all be water tight and offer enough support.

Between using a premade bench and actually framing one out, boarding it and water proofing it I will always go with the premade one just because of how much time it saves while building a shower.

We bought this bench for our shower remodel and it worked out great. We needed to cut the length (from side to side) a bit to allow space for the shower curtain to hang between the lip of the shower and the bench and it was made to do so if needed. (See photo) It did not affect the structural integrity of the piece.
