Great veggie book
Bought this book as used and received it in great condition. Going beyond that, it is a great book for quick, tasty and thrifty recipes. It may have been written for students, but this 74 y.o. Grandma enjoys the recipes and cant wait to try on the grandkids.

A Great Little Cookbook for One or Two w/ Budget Friendly Recipes
I'm addicted to cookbooks, but with a relatively small budget I'm not usually able to try many new recipes. But this book grabbed me with it's subtitle: "Great Grub for the Hungry and Broke". It's a beautiful cookbook, each page spread contains at least one picture of one of the recipes on that page. The ingredients list is listed side by side with the instructions in a very easy to scan fashion. Each page contains only one or two recipes, so it's not overwhelming. The pictures are beautiful and enticing. I drool just flipping through this book. The recipes are all scaled for 2-4 servings, which makes it perfect for cooking for just one or two people. Recipes are sorted into categories: Light bites and sides, salads, pasta, light entrees, hearty entrees, foods to impress, and desserts. The first recipe I tried - Tomato and Red Lentil Soup - quickly became one of my favorite items. I've since adapted it to my tastes, but it is definitely one of my favorites.Defintely one of my favorite recipes books right now

LIVES UP TO ITS TITLE!
I love this book. It has become one of my favorite veggie cookbooks (and I have a large collection of them) because the recipes are friendly, varied, creative, and use ingredients that are easily found at a neighborhood grocery or already in your pantry. The recipes can also be changed up easily and varied without destroying the underlying structure of the recipe- works great for using up left-overs, While it obtains the usual variety of recipes by type ( salads, sides, desserts, etc.) the main dishes based on grains, beans, and rices, and even pizzas are a highlight.

This is a good cookbook with some very yummy recipes
This is a good cookbook with some very yummy recipes, however I wish it included more easy recipes for the college dorm. I do like that faster recipes are indicated as such but think there should be more. Overall though, this is good and can be used by more than just college students.

I bought this for my grandson, he is a student at University in Bristol & he's just turned vegetarian. He said meat is far too expensive & he has bills to pay.

An exceptionally good vegetarian cook book
This is a great little book not just for students but for anyone who wants to discover some really tasty vegetarian dishes. I am not a vegetarian but now have frequent vegetarian meals using this book. I originally borrowed it from the library before I decided it was well worth buying a copy. My fav ourite dish is the couscous with roast squash, halloumi, dates and pistachios. I never realized vegetarian food could be this good.
