Pretty piece, not quite as pretty sound
Love the look, the size, the accessories included. It looks very nice on display with the neck strap, and the bag is also cool. The sound, though....maybe I just need a bit more practice with it, but I cannot get the two lowest notes out in tune unless I use the gentlest tickle of a breath and have my lips pursed into a pinprick opening, and even then, it's still not quite in tune. If I don't concentrate on really tightening my embouchure each time I play those notes, they come out an entire half step sharp. This makes it difficult to actually play any kind of song, as it's hard to switch notes on the fly and have them actually sound good. The upper notes sound more in tune; they still sound a little airy and a tad squeaky, but not horrible overall. If you're a beginner, I don't think I'd recommend this for your first ocarina; I found it much easier to learn on a 12 hole ocarina, like the white bird and flower one from the same maker, Ocarina Wind. I've found that 12 hole ocarinas seem to require far less meticulous breath control than this 6 hole ocarina. Again, maybe I just need some more practice with it, as this is my first 6 hole ocarina. For $9.95, it's still a pretty piece for my collection, but I don't know how often I'll be actually playing this one, unfortunately.

Beautiful statement piece, good beginner ocarina, could be more ergonomic.
It’s definitely a good beginner ocarina and this is the one that I used to learn alto C. It also (mostly) produces a great sound, albeit some of the sharps and flats don’t always sound different from their majors. However, it may not be the most ergonomic for everyone but, in that case, it also wins in the “looks” department and, honestly, buying it for that alone as a centerpiece or just an interesting thing to have on a shelf could be a conversation starter. Since I just bought another six hole alto C ocarina (that’s a bit flatter and, thus, easier to hold for long enough periods of time to learn entire songs), this one will be up for display at my home and that’s just fine. I would give this 4 stars in another world, but it looks even better in your home than in the picture, and that has to be rewarded. Also, I’m not the best with my fine motor skills, and so I can’t knock Ocarinawind 100% for any out of tune notes since it can very well may just have been my fingers.

An excellent value, feels and sounds nice
Once you learn proper fingering and breath control, it is quite a joy to play, would definitely recommend a pendant like this over a transverse for beginners. The finish feels nice and there are no sharp burrs, high notes are clear, and at the bottom note, you can even pitch bend down quite a ways, so the range is larger than advertised. The ocarina's walls are quite thick in relation to the body, so it feels durable.Sound is not the purest, but it doesn't sound bad per se, it has very subtle overtones which give it a pleasing tone.Documentation is helpful, C notation shown seems to be the most pitch accurate.I have since purchased 2 more for some friends of mine as it is a good kit for learning.

Wow
For the price, this is a great pendant ocarina with a clear but not overly-shrill sound.

good quality and ceramic with a nice sound
This ocarina is heavy, good quality and ceramic with a nice sound. It is very pretty. The "song book" is an 8x10 sheet of paper with 6 songs on one side and finger chart on the other. The "strap" is not the item pictured, but a thin piece of nylon cord which I would not dare use considering the weight of this ocarina. It requires something much more substantial if you plan on wearing it around your neck. I was able to play Happy Birthday fairly well right after taking it out of its box and the nice bag it came in. It was very well packaged.

Best bang for your buck! So ain’t like a Stradivarius!
The media could not be loaded. Pretty decent beginner’s ocarina. And I think the collectors will like this too because it’s pretty to look at. I hope the video I post is helpful to hear the decent sound quality of this affordable starter/collector’s ocarina (pardon my poor microphone). And the items it comes with.

Easy to learn!
This was a Christmas present for my 11 year old. She was playing songs within 24 hours! Nicely made.
