This is absolutely the best book on ODD. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Easy to read format, printable forms and excellent information.

Im half way through the book and it really hasnt said anything i already dont know. Im a frustated mother of a defiant 6 yr old who is in therapy. I bought the book for some extra help for myself and its not really of much use.

Love this!! I am a first year mental health counselor working in a high school. I am not too familiar working with those who have an ODD diagnosis or behaviors (in my internship I had more anxiety, depression, OCD). This book outlines functions behind behaviors, assessment tools, behavior motivation, and strategies. The assessments are pretty thorough, unlike other books where assessments can be basic/nothing special. I would definitely recommend for someone new to the topic!

Professionally I do not recommend this book in it's entirety. I really like portions and encourage parents to read specific sections. Other parts came across as too hard, depending on a given issue, and could have been written in a kinder more supportive voice.

The information provided is very helpful, the author seems to have a lot of experience and very the book itself is easy to read and easy to understand. I also enjoyed the fact that it provides a lot of resources and therapy tools. I’ve already recommended it to my colleagues.

Interesting book with lots to offer for ideas and I formation

I am a school counselor and highly recommend this book to other school counselors. The book is helpful in developing guidelines and strategies for working with kids who are struggling with anger, behavioral issues, poor relationships with peers, adults, parents.
