Simple strap saves back
This is just a simple, adjustable strap for your weed whacker. It works just fine with my Troy-Bilt. You couldn't really ask for more in this price range (under $10). There is no cushion/pad, but one can easily figure something out whether it's a rolled-up towel or whatever. When adjusted properly, you can really just one-hand smaller trimming jobs if you want. For an acreage, I would definitely figure out some padding if you like your neck, as it will slide a little and find itself against your jugular from time to time..One thing - tighten the lock nut on the eyelet bolt until some bolt threads are past the locking part of the nut. I was halfway through a pretty big yard when I noticed the strap was no longer... strapped. Cheap/easy to replace the nut, but better to make sure it doesn't fall off in the first place.

For a string trimmer without a strap this is a great item!
This year my gas trimmer died and I replaced it with cordless trimmer from Black and Decker. Alas, it did not have a strap like my gas trimmer and while it was lighter it got heavy in use. It caused a shoulder injury to recur so I started looking for a strap to solve my problem. This one arrived and was easy to install and to adjust. Tried it out and works great. No padding for shoulder so if using for extended period might want a pad for the shoulder but for most smaller lawns doing hour or less of weed trimming this will likely work just fine. As for the padding issue I took a thick hand towel and folded it on my shoulder to rest the strap. Worked just fine. Can likely find a pad to slip over the strap if find more convenient. Check on Amazon under Pad for Shoulder Strap and will find several at various price ranges. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_8?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pad+for+shoulder+strap&hasWorkingJavascript=1&sprefix=pad+for+%2Caps%2C323

Good strap -- stupid design
The strap seems to be sturdy and works fine, except I don't understand why they sewed TWO clips on to the strap. One clip floats on the strap and connects to the loop attached to the trimmer's shaft (as it should). But, there is a second clip sewn to the dangling part of the strap that is used to adjust the length of the strap. I have never seen this before and it makes absolutely no sense at all other than having it dangle at the end of the strap. Sure, I could clip it to the loop, but for what reason? Stupid design or a mistake in the Chinese factory.

This is a comfortable, economic strap
When I visited my parents over the summer and went to help my 70-year-old father with yard work I was surprised to find that he had been using his gas powered weedeater without a strap. His excuse was that he wanted a "good one." I immediately opened Amazon Underground and found this one. After reading the reviews of some of my fellow reviewers, I ordered this one.Installation was a breeze. It took me no more than ten minutes to get it installed and adjusted to my liking. When he saw I bought it, Dad tried it out and, stubborn as he is, admitted that he preferred it with the strap. This is a comfortable, economic strap. It sits comfortably on the shoulders. I know some straps have more padding, but this one is absolutely fine for the price. It is easy enough to adjust that multiple people can use it without complaining about having to fix it every time they use it.Are there better straps on the market? Probably. Will this one serve the needs of the average person? Definitely.

A hiking sock pad makes this quite comfy.
Once I worked past a slub (or some dried, gummy debris) on the strap to adjust the length, the strap did work well enough to transfer some of the load to my shoulder. I put a thick hiking sock under the strap to pad it on my shoulder and am quite satisfied. Very simple to install. Well worth the purchase price.

A decent strap makes all the difference
Without a strap I can only weed wack for around 20-30 minutes. WITH a strap I can go an hour and a half easy beans. I was concerned that the length of the strap wouldn't be long enough as I am a plus size woman (who has heard "one size fits all" and knows it just ain't so). But I clamped the clamp doohickey to my weed wacker, adjusted the strap and the length was great (plenty of extra length so that it would work for someone taller (I'm 5'5" but wide :o) and I think it would work easily for a taller and wide person. It pretty much takes all the strain out of the arms and lower back when you don't have a strap, and transfers the weight to the frame of the body so that the arms are more there to guide the head of the trimmer. Worked perfectly - it was exactly what I was looking for.

Great strap!
It's a good strap that does what it was intended for, which is to disperse the weight of an instrument. In my case it's being used on a string trimmer. I had no problem attaching it to the shaft of the trimmer, or adjusting its location as I figured out where it would be most comfortable in weight dispersal. The sliding mechanism on the strap was easy to adjust as well and did not slide out of the position I placed it.This strap is not padded, so the the strap material did rub a bit through my shirt. I took this into account before I purchased the strap, but chose to deal with a bit of chafing over paying more money for a different one. I've got a seatbelt pad that I may use on it the next time I've got the trimmer in use.Overall I'm very happy with the purchase, and at $10 it was well worth the money for lessening the strain on my arms and back.

Good strap
I like the strap for my weed eater but it is overpriced.

For what you pay, this a great fix to add a strap and relieve some of the discomfort of extended trimmer use.Easy to use and worked very well to take a lot of the trimmer weight away from my arms.Good buy.
