Chips Licorice Jujubes 2LB Bulk Bag

I have bought these delicious licorice gems for years. Sometimes they arrive a little 'hard' (or old?) And sometimes not...this is my only negative. I first discovered these at an Italian restaurant years ago - and I love them as a 't.v. watching snack' that is low calorie & sugar content & satisfying. These are also nice to offer after dinner guests who enjoy licorice as an aperitif...I did have one friend who actually broke a tooth ! So remember these are NOT soft chews - but more like a hard candy.

As a child I grew up with frequent cases of strep, and weeks of terrible painful coughing per year, and thus became very familiar with all the drug store cough drops of the '60s. Now as an adult, although those health problems are resolved, I still remember my favorite cough drops, the Parke-Davis Discs and Pine Bros. As for the texture, these Chips are softer than the Jujubes we used to get in the movie theater, but harder than the Pine Bros. cough drops. The flavor is not quite as strong as Parke-Davis Medicated Throat Discs, if you remembered those spicy, licorice-flavored lozenges, but still has a respectably strong flavor. I find these Chips delightful, and would not have discovered these little pleasures if for not the amazon reviews. This is a big bag, so I hope you end up liking them.

These are very soothing for my heartburn cough. They seem to work better than the larger name brand cough drops. I've purchased them for some years from local grocery stores in small plastic containers but they are quite expensive. Hence, I was very pleased to find a large quantity for about four times what I have been paying for the small containers. Much greater value!

Is really great strong licorice. I love this stuff. Best licorice I have ever tasted. It is a little bit chewy. That is what a pastel is. Not as fierce as a sin sin. Milder and sweeter.

I like everything about this product. I have been buying these for a very long time.
